I don't believe conspiracy theories. I believe doctors are acting with good intentions, but then so were doctors 200 years ago when they practiced bloodletting.
Fisky, someone has to say it: you are the very model of a conspiracy theorist. For over 18 months now, you've been discounting information from authoritative and trustworthy sources while accepting fringe information without question. It's led you to make some incredibly poor decisions that leave you at high risk of serious, long-term health consequences. It's been pretty sad to watch. Please talk to your family doctor or another trusted medical professional.
This made me laugh, but thanks for the opinion. I see my approach... waiting, masking, social distancing, avoiding people, and boosting my immune system against both covid and a cytokine storm... as a prudent approach for me. The current infection rate in my county is roughly 1 active case per 9,000 residents. Today, I was around zero people without a mask indoors. Yesterday: 0. Day before yesterday: 0, except I did walk by a few people indoors without a mask. My risk of randomly being around that 1 in 9,000 person is extremely low. What if they come to my door, you say? They can't. I live behind a locked driveway gate. The Amazon delivery guy leaves my packages 120 yards from my house.
How is weighing the information available to me and making a personal health decision in any way supporting any conspiracy theory?
Now, if my job were on the line or if I was in a service industry and exposed to dozens of strangers every day, it would be different. If masking, social distancing, and avoiding contact with people affected my day-to-day life, it would be different.
Remember, the long-term effects are unknown and can't be observed until some subjects have been vaccinated for the long term.
In my opinion, mild and asymptomatic breakthrough cases will skyrocket as we get into flu season. It's even more important for me to remain isolated for the next few months.
I'm not calling you out. I'm just making the best decision I can based on the information I see. I want to see transparent long-term data before I make an irreversible decision. You can't get unvaccinated.
