Basic economics.
Save us from the fury of the North Men...
Trump is certainly willing to print as much money as it takes, but the Emperor has no clothes, and our pandemic response, like other aspects of our healthcare, is overpriced & ineffective. We are failing to compete with other countries, and their economies have it hard enough: meanwhile we are breaking the piggy bank and borrowing way too much, while achieving nothing.
If we run out of cash, we’ll be forced into socialism on very unfavorable terms.

From CNN article: "Revenue growth slowed, but investors expected much worse." Due to the pandemic and loss of a lot of ad revenue, esp. travel and entertainment and other areas hit hard.

(Reuters) - Gilead Sciences Inc's <GILD.O> experimental antiviral drug remdesivir helped improve symptoms in COVID-19 patients who were given the drug early than among those who were treated later, the company said.
The closely-watched drug has moved markets in the past few weeks and on Wednesday broader markets once again rose on the data and Gilead shares also jumped 9%.
In Gilead's study, 62% of patients treated early were discharged from the hospital, compared with 49% of patients who were treated late, the company said.
