i noticed that the johnnies were in the special 5 and 10k, but some others (gleason and sepe) were in the other 5 and 10k. were there certain qualifying times you had to have? i imagine sepe would have benefited from the faster 10k race as he won his.

It was all by seed times. Erichsen and Fermoyle were seeded fast enough to get into the faster heats.

Gleason, Sepe, Bauer, Yotter (DNF) really did not get to show what they were capable of this weekend at Gina. The Open races, which these guys were in, were during the day, as opposed to the invite races which were at night. The weather was terrible during the day: 79 degrees, humid, and very windy. By night the temp. and humidity had dropped, and there was almost no wind. Too bad they couldn't get into the faster sections.

What happened with Greeno and Gina Relays? He is on the entry list for the open 10,000m run, but he is not in the results either with a time or DNF.

so less than two weeks until conference now. i wonder if having meets canceled will really hurt anybody. greeno, for example, needs to run a 5k one would think. boumeester and atzinger have yet to run an 800. will those guys get those races in before conference?

You'd have to think Greeno will run 5K this weekend, but he would only be able to do one of the 5K or 10K at conference. Seems a little strange, there must be something going on there. Boumeester seems to have made the switch from 800/1500 to 1500/5000, and I'd bet on him doing that double at conference. Atzinger, maybe 1500 and the 4x800. Also, does anyone else think Erichsen might try the 10K-steeple-5K triple? If St John's wants to win the meet they'll certainly need every point they can get, and he could probably score 26-30 fairly easily (top 2 in 5 and 10, win steeple).

except he probably doesn want to cash himself before nats. hooley successfully took on a triple a few years back, but didn't do so hot at nats two weeks later.

Knowing Erichsen, he is definitely a team guy and would run the 800/1500/steeple/5k quadruple if he had to for the Johnnies to win. Knowing Tim Miles, Erichsen will definitely not be doing the 1500/steeple/5k triple. I would say 1500/5k like last year, but he finishes 3rd in the 1500 to Boumeester and Atzinger.

He can use the same 5K time to enter both the 5 and 10. I had a teammate who did that last year. He ran no 10s and only 1 5 during the season and entered both (ended up not getting into the 5 though).

Either: a) your coach is shady or b) made an error. c) is a given... this slipped by someone on the rules committee. miac rules dictate that a converted time is connected to that performance. specifically, a performance cannot 2-4-1 from a qualifying standpoint. two performances must be registered for two qualifiers, and 3/3, 4/4, etc.

I have not seen many results from Atzinger during outdoor. I would have thought that he would have been on one of the Drake Relays teams. Is he even running, maybe injuried, or have I just missed his name when looking over some of the results this outdoor?

Doboul Ruon ran a 14:48ish 5k at the rolex classic today, pretty solid.

I know for sure that the coach entered this person in both the 5000m and 10000m with the same performance used. This person only ran 1 5k and no 10ks during the year. He did not get into the 5K. Does that make a difference in the rules? Can you enter both with the same time and then if you end up getting in both you have to check a box that you prefer one or the other?

yeah, you used to be able to make a "preference", but i'm not sure if that is still an option.

Nope, you can no longer make a preference for an event. I think that changed just this year.

I have some questions also about some guys where abouts. Did VB decide to retire from running or is he going for a medical red shirt. Rosvold hasn't had any results outdoors, Is he injured? He was running in indoor. Is Murphy on a study abroad? I haven't seen results since cross.
