Where have you been, under a rock? Why do you think the Chinese rarely run any races outside of China? And they have a long track history of known doping. Its not misinformed information. Like the Announcers said the chinese are a lot like the greats, their appearances are controlled and they are rarely in national competition and we know where that got the Greek sprinters.
That is totally incorrect.
Wei Yanan (2:20:21 in 2002 Beijing Marathon) has run both the Seoul Marathon and the Boston Marathon.
Sun Yingjie (2:19:38) has run both Boston and London.
Sun Yingjie was scheduled to run 2003 Rotterdam but the stupid Dutch organizers refused to allow her to enter Holland as a result of SARS hysteria.
The Chinese women (in every sport, from running to pingpong to weightlifting) are some of the toughest and most focused athletes in the WORLD. Before you judge them, at least go to China and watch them train, and get a sense about China first-hand.
