I just wonder why someone so into crossfit would come to a message board about distance running? Why would the thought even cross your mind? I'm not into fishing, I have no idea where fishermen talk about it on the net, nor do I care to and I sure dont want to go on there talking about how fishing is stupid. weird.
From what I've read, the people who started crossfit actually registered the domain crossfit.com before they even invented a program to use that name. And I think a lot of it comes from personal trainers/health club owners who resented the growth of running and marathon boom. Bad for the health club business because runners don't have to pay someone $100 a month just to workout like people did in the 1920's or something. They invented this so-called functional training "craze" out of financial interest not exercise need. If they were really doing this for athletic performance, they's be spending more time on Olympic Lifts instead kipping pullups with horrible form. Seems to me that they have simply created a business model to get people to pay a lot of money to do circuit training.
So I think they want to talk down running, because maybe converting runners is where they think their new member growth is going to need to come from.
That assumes that the xfit guy isn't just Mr. Chest reincarnated. Don't think so because Mr. Chest was actually funny to read.
