I've personally known no less than 20 elite runners over the last 10yrs and most all drive Lexus.
Back in the day, Alpha Romeo Spyder convertible and Fiat Spyder as well. After retired, Porsche 911S.
My wife who now makes enough to be in the top 1% but drives a Hyundai. I still have the Porsche along with a Lexus.
My roommate , who was US Champion in the 1500m in the 90's drove an MG.
Dominican 1500m champ drove a scooter, it was rather nice.
1500m US Oly Trials champin the 80's had a classic Mercedes two sweater convertible. Still has it.
US 5k champ, last one before Kennedy had his streak drove a Toyota truck.
Galen Rupp drives a spartan one. It's really nice, but he spends most of his time relaxing in it, sometimes with his wife. I think he will run fast this year.
