This case is not about "pressurizing stereotypes," or "owning" your sexuality, or "provincial" prudes and bible-thumpers versus sophisticated and enlightened "sex positive" freethinkers, or any of the other stuff that you've been prattling about. And while you and I may have similar views about certain laws, and may even have similar views about sexual mores, I have no similar illusions about what Suzy has done.

Suzy has screwed up. Horribly. And she knows it, even if you do not. She appears to have broken numerous state and federal laws. In addition to placing herself in legal jeopardy, she has probably also jeopardized her parental rights, her financial status, her standing in a number of communities, and many, many relationships. I won't speculate about how her conduct has hurt others, including her child, but I'm also not willing to minimize it as merely a byproduct of one woman's decision to pursue her "last chance" at a "fantasy" as her "clock was ticking toward 50."

Your "Open Letter to Suzy" isn't going to give her any comfort. It's naive, and trite, and unhelpful. Suzy has some very serious problems that she needs to deal with -- now, in the real world, where talk about the "play party lifestyle" sounds very silly and slight.

To borrow a famous quote from an unsuccessful presidential candidate, porn stars are people too. Get over yourself, quit judging to make yourself feel superior, and learn to live and let live.
