1) Crossfitters hate anything that is not Crossfitting.
What? I have been doing CF for almost 2 years and I've never heard any negative comments about other forms of fitness. To me, it seems like the hardcore "letsrunners" hate anything that's not running.
2) Crossfitters use terrible form.
Completely untrue. I had to complete a month of intro classes to learn the proper technique. Every workout is monitored by a trainer who critiques your form and stops you if you do it incorrectly. Why would they want you to get hurt?
3) Crossfitters pay $200+/month.
I pay $90. And I don't live in a cheap area. I guess it's different for different gyms.
4) Crossfitters are shallow gym rats who like looking at their biceps in the mirror.
I have never been to a CF gym with mirrors. CF is the anti "Look at my biceps in the mirror" gym. The people at my gym are normal, working people who just want something different to get in shape. They are down to earth and ego-free. It's family-friendly and a supportive community.
Why so much animosity from runners toward CF? I run 4 days/week and do Crossfit 2 days/week. I have gotten faster, my posture has improved, my body is more balanced in terms of strength, etc. Plus, it's fun! Maybe my CF gym is the exception... but what I see described as CF on this site is not anything I've ever experienced.
minus over 9000/10
I'm actually gonna take that back and give you a bonus point...9000/10 for the effort you put into trying to make it seem the figgitry goes towards crossfit rather than from it. My sides still ache after re-reading your rant.
