Things to think about:
1. Police Commissioner Kelly told the mayor on Tuesday that the race should not be held. The Mayor ignored him.
2. If the Mayor had gone to Staten Island on Tuesday he would might have cancelled the race.
3. Here's the main connection that people are overlooking- "now listen tho this, it's important" (as Bill Clinton said at the democratic convention). Mid week, the Mayor endorsed Obama for President. The ultra conservative Murdoch owned Post and Fox went nuts and needed to attach anything associated with the Mayor.
4. The Post didn't only pour the gas on the fire, but they lit it and continued to throw anyone and anything into it.
5. How come the Post didn't write about all the electricity being used by the lights in Times Square? Shouldn't have all those companies turned the lights off and donated the money to the relief??
6. Did Dolan donate all of the clothing from the kiosks in Madison Square Garden to the relief? How about the 100's of cops assigned to the Garden for the Game? Should they have been deployed to help the needy folks in Staten Island- same for the football game.
7.Maybe they did this but I don't know - how about all of the tail gating at the football games. Shouldn't those people of taken their grills to Staten Island and other parts of NJ to help feed folks who hadn't had a hot meal in weeks???
8. Generators at the race. Not owned by the NYRR. Privately owned and the responsiblity of the companies to get them. Whey didn't the City and OEM come and get them.
