do they have some super 7th grader coming in to challenge Fanning then? I think Holy Names #1-4 can be competitive with FM's #2-5, but its that gap from Fanning that is going to win it for FM even if Holy Names finds a fifth... at least, that is how it looks on paper (and on paper, I think Fort Collins and a couple other teams -- like Carmel or Tatnall -- will be as good as Holy Names as well even if they don't find anyone new)

I think these are great comments. I will campaign to start coaching local HS cross country but primarily my efforts will be extra curricular attempts to improve the gene pool. So many parents don't get to participate in PTA, but this is a booster initiative that I think a lot of parents will support. I don't see how this dynasty-building plan can fail; this is a win, win, win.
Sex everywhere you can get it. Heck, I like mine in the Oval Office.
I'm done with the science lessons. You are right. The ONLY reason one team is better than the other is strictly who has the best coach. Or is it who pounds the hardest intervals and most miles? Or was it who prays the most?
That 300 pound lineman just needs to train for Saugus XC or FM and he'll be national champ in no time, screw the shot put! Just train harder and you win baby!
Would adding someone who finished top 20 at NXN last year be enough to put Holy Names over the top?

Aside from Estela Smith? That would bring them almost even going into the summer, I suppose... I still think FM would have a slight edge at #2-5, but not an insurmountable lead.
BTW, my projected ratings at the moment (track is included):
161 Jillian Fanning 12 Fayetteville-Manlius NY
143 Katie Brislin 12 Fayetteville-Manlius NY
141 Hanna Smith 12 Fayetteville-Manlius NY
141 Alana Pearl 11 Fayetteville-Manlius NY
140 Jenna Farrell 9 Fayetteville-Manlius NY
135 Michelle Duffy 12 Fayetteville-Manlius NY
131 Annika Avery 10 Fayetteville-Manlius NY
145 Estela Smith 10 Holy Names NY
139 Catherine Maloy 12 Holy Names NY
133 Kaylee Scott 10 Holy Names NY
132 Leah Triller 11 Holy Names NY
119 Jacqueline Willsey 12 Holy Names NY
97 Emily Reid 12 Holy Names NY
85 Kaitlin Close 10 Holy Names NY
(I bring this up not to try and discourage Holy Names, but to show just how good FM has been and looks to continue to be -- I hope Holy Names and other teams can put enough training in to close the gap and challenge FM, it's good for the sport and would be great to see!)
Feel free to let me know if I missed someone, or included someone that is graduating.
FM is looking real good (and Holy Names looks like a US top 3/5 team)
Please enlighten us, how does one cheat?? Very easy to dismiss success and hard work with that statement. Sounds like someone is making excuses...
