Kipchoge was born in 1964...which from that date to 2003 is 19 years but he still had a month or so before turning 19 so yea he was 18...not only that but IAAF still has him as the World Junior Record holder for the 5000m...and im pretty sure the IAAF, i mean only the leading track organization of the WORLD..would know if he is in fact 18 or not.
plus who cares if he looks 20 or 30..my friend looks 30 and hes 17...
At this point, Haile is still much, much better than Bekele. I can't believe anyone would even question that. Haile SHATTERED, DESTROYED, HUMILIATED, VIOLATED the 5000m and 10000m world records. He won the world champs indoor 1500m, has like 5 f***in' world 10000m titles and also he is TWO FOR TWO in Olympic golds! Being 2/2 in Olympic golds is far better than anything Bekele has done, not to mention that he destrominated the WR's and was basically UNDEFEATED for like 8 years! He lost something like 2 races in an 8 year time frame, and neither was in the 10000m, his main event! While yes Bekele has run slightly faster than Geb has run he hasn't had near the impact of Geb. Geb rewrote our definition of a world class distance runner, and he's still kicking ass 10 years after he started his assault on the record books and Olympic history. Hell, he might not even be done yet - he could win Olympic gold in the 10000m and could set a marathon WR!
like one of the announcers also said at the 2003 WOC's, "the kenyans continue to come up with new faces every year." kipchoge is surely a talent, but how long is he going to be around before the next kenyan comes around?
Yeah if he was actually a 30 year old man like some of the posters were arguing, he'd be almost 60 by now! That would make his marathon records very impressive haha
also that would be pretty impressive to see him (or anyone for that matter) as the first runner to sub 3:30/13:00/27:00. has he ever raced 10,000 meters though?
Kipchoge never did this, but Farah did. Anyone else?
Call me crazy but I think Jingy could pull off the first sub 3:26, 12:35, 26:10 ever if he keeps progressing like he is and doesn't suffer any major injury
Eliud is a teenager! PERIOD!!Take it or leave it. It is condescending and insulting to say that our medical record keeping is not up to date. It happened to our grandmothers and grandfathers. I kow when my dad and mom were born. Get lost!
Who says anything about record keeping? It's flat out lying. Look at him. He's in his mid 20's. He'll disappear in a couple of years,

Nope. Kejelcha on conversions maybe, but I personally think 3:47 converts to 3:30.
No, he was 3-4 years older 19 years ago. Believe it or not, that means 3-4 years old now, which is what we've all been saying. He's over 40.
Yep. Only the Dutch and Norwegians can run incredible times as teenagers.
If you look back at photos and videos of Kipchoge from ‘02-‘04 you’ll be struck by how young he looks. No reason to claim he’s older than listed, at least considering what he’s still doing 20 years later.
