Jordan Hasay running career will end after college unless she moves up to 10000m

I know that Jordan Hasay is running at least 60 miles a week and have been for years and Bernard Lagat run between 40-50 at his high point; therefore, there is no comparison.

Slower American girls then Hasay have left college, got a 'pro coach' and been dropping world class times within months.

She'll be fine with the right support.

So 10 miles per week means her 1500/5000 career is over?

In track it is not permissible to run circles around other competitors. Runners must run in an oval. Neither is it permissible for competitors to bring their dust to races. Runners must leave their dust at home. Further, Hassay is not the most American white hop. The most American white hop is the eastern cottontail rabbit.

What are you crazy, she is 20 years and 6 months old. That is 1 1/2 from 22. She has run a 4.10 1500 meters.

And has run a 9.03 3000 meters she is improving every year, give me a break.

I see that your definitely not the sharpest TOOL in your family. The title doesn't state that her career is over. It states that she needs to move up in distance to be competitive if she wants a competitive post-collegiate career.

In regards to 10 miles a week, yes it makes a difference. 10 x 52 = 520 miles in a year and yes that makes a big difference over the course of several years. You (so patheic I got laugh to keep from crying at you) dummy!

She isn't Kenyan her chances are very very slim she will be competative on the Olympic Level.

She was born Sept 21 in 1991. Subtract 1991-2011 and you get 20 years then add half a year. So she is 20 and a half. You cant do math well and dont know too much about elite competitive running obviously. She has many national titles already under her belt and could be sponsored now if she wished, so your statement "she will not run after college unless she does 10k" is ridiculous. GTFO

It's too bad that all you can come up with to support your theory are ad hominem attacks.

I think that we really need to wait for outdoors this year to make any asertions. Lets not forget that Emily Infeld ran 4:08 last year at USA's. Jordan has stated NUMEROUS times that her goal is to peak at the olympic trials. I would be shocked if she didnt PR in the 1500 at the trials even if she doesnt make the team. If she can get to lets say... 4:07 nobody will doubting her ability to compete in the 1500. With that said, I do agree that her future probably is in the 5/10k. She does lack the Jenny Baringer foot speed but so do many phenomenal runners. Does Shalane Flanagan have fantastic raw foot speed? Not really but look at the career she has had.

I predict that she will become America's next great 5/10k runner along with Lisa Uhl, Emily Infeld etc. That's not to say she still doesn't have some great 1500's left in her.

Jordan Hasay is a great talent with a phenomenal work ethic. She isn't improving monstrously but last year she dropped THREE seconds in the 1500 and like 40 in the 5k (granted that's not a good comparison). I can see her running 4:07 and 15:20 this summer, which will set her up for a very good next few years.

I also agree that she won't be a Barringer-Simpson type, but she should be like Flanagan if all goes well. With Hasay, Infeld, D'Agostino, Flood, Sisson, Cuffe, etc. rocking the collegiate ranks, the USA has a bright future in 5k/10k.

Get a life because if your Golden Girl stays in the 1500m she may very well improve to 4:04 and it would be a miracle if she gets MUCH faster as she doesn't have the raw leg speed. Jordan could do so much more at 5000m/10000m if she moved up now and gained experience and leave the 1500m to the speed demons.

Aren't the top girls in the 10k sub or near sub 4:00 runners also? So what better chance does Hasay have in the 10k?

What you fail to see is that if she improves to a 4:04, then her talent isn't at a standstill. She's still improving.
