She does not run track. She cherry picks fast road races and ducks high school runners so that she can appear better than what she is. She's good, she was probably the 50-60th best XC runner in the nation. But, she's not deserving of 1/10th of the press she gets. (USATF Athlete of the Week, please.) Have her show up at the NBIN/NBN 5k or 2mi... Hell, if not for the drive, I'd show up at one of these road races with my girls. Maybe Mr. Monti would report that result for all to see...
I guess in your hypercritical world it's fine for a teen girl to have a passion for the middle distances but not for the long distances. You bitterness towards the Hadley's is puzzling. They aren't costing you anything yet you still attack out of what ... Jealousy? Live you life, train your girls and stop worrying about them.

She cherry picks fast road races, yet you say she is ducking competition. That is contradictory. The point of cherry picking races is to find a slow one that you can win. I know people that do this.
Did you just graduate from HS yourself recently?

The only time I take Alana Hadley seriously is when she runs Foot Locker Regional & Foot Locker Final....and you should too. That is the only true indicator of how good she really is.

I think she was 11th at FL South - running something like 30 sec slower on the same course than she had earlier in the season. She's no Baxter or Cain, but I doubt they could run a 1:16 half..
I see nothing wrong with focusing on road races & half marathons.
NBON takes place at a stupid time of the year - mid June, when a lot of girls are past done with track and into their break before ramping up for XC. I don't blame her for skipping NBON, or any track meet. She'd have to have incredible range to bust out a 1:16 half & also be nationally competitive in the 1600/3200..
I don't know the Hadleys, but I'm well familiar with the constraints of public high school competition & the silliness of state high school athletic associations, so I don't blame them a bit for skipping out on all that..

Dude, a 16 year old girl running a half-marathon in 1:16xx is very unusual. I seriously doubt any of your girls can come close to that time, or we would have heard about it.
