All right, I'll bite. If one of the requirements for POTUS is that one be a "natural born citizen" of the United States, shouldn't a candidate be required to produce proof of satisfying that requirement?
He's already produced a legally valid Hawaii birth certificate. Birthers have their panties in a bundle because the "original" is missing.

I know this is a stupid question, but does "natural born citizen" have to mean someone is born on US soil? Can someone born to US parents who happen to be in Canada really not be the POTUS? Born to US citizen parents, US citizen for entire lifetime. Seems to be a "natural born citizen" to me. Is that not the case?
If that is the case, then it really does not matter where Obama was actually born. Does it? His mother was always a US citizen her entire life, an by birthright Barack Obama has been a citizen his entire life. Doesn't that make him a "natural born citizen?"

Explain why it is easier to prove where Bush was born as opposed to Obama. Have you seen Bush's "original" birth certificate?

I believe based on the laws of the time that had Obama been born abroad, he would not have been a US citizen at birth, due to his mother's age and his father's Kenyan nationality. But I personally have little doubt he was born in Hawaii, and even on the .01% chance he wasn't, I honestly don't care.
The whole "why don't we check Bush's birth certificate" thing is stupid, because with two US citizens for parents, Bush was a citizen from birth even if he was born on Mars.
I just found out that my son's teacher thinks that there was more to the Kennedy assassination than just Lee Harvey Oswald acting alone. Can I trust him to teach my child?

The controversy was created by the tea party. The only party left in this country where racists can feel "safe" is in the tea party. Therefore, it is highly likely that there is an element to this controversy that is racially motivated. Causation or correlation, the fact remains.

Let me help you make this analogy more accurate.
It is like finding out teachers are required to have degrees, and your child's teacher has shown proof before being hired. But you feel as a parent that you have a right to view the degree, transcripts and every graded test and paper.

Really this is not an issue of opinion. Both "Obama was born in Hawaii" and "Obama was born in Kenya" are facts. They may be poorly substantiated or disputed facts but they are clearly not matters of opinion.
How do you know the teacher is a "birther"? If the teacher told the children, that is a problem. Personal beliefs should be set aside in teaching and children taught the facts. But people are allowed their opinions in their personal life.
However, this teacher obviously has some critical thinking problems. Probably thinks Rush Limbaugh is "the news". You should be careful to ask your children regularly what they are being "taught". Though this goes for any teacher. Learning begins at home and is not the sole responsibility of the state. Teach your children critical thinking and they will not be duped by pseudo facts and conjecture.

Once again, you just threw out the above statement like a robot. Obama has produced a Certification of Live Birth. It is NOT a birth certificate. It does not show the hospital, attending doctor, witnesses, nor time and date of birth, size & weight, etc. The governor of Hawaii could not find the birth certificate.
I wouldn't trust even the great Ron Paul to teach my child, which is why I home school.

This issue has been hashed over hundreds of times. No, you do *not* have to be born on US soil to be a natural born citizen (although it is sufficient). However, it is not enough to have a US citizen as a parent. There are rules about the age of the parent and the number of years they have spent in the US, etc, etc. If Obama *had* been born in Kenya then he would not be a natural born citizen because of these rules. However, he was not born in Kenya, so it's a non-issue.
It is a little known fact that one of the candidates for President in 2008 was not born on US soil and has refused to make his birth certificate public.
That candidate was John McCain.
