Finished grad school. Had three kids. Started teaching and coaching. Began a new track program at a new school (25), won school's first conference title (30). Got hired at my alma mater. Bought my first home and first (but far from last) minivan. Ran 3 seconds faster than my HS PR at 30.
22- graduated, started grad school, and worked at a local hot rod shop
23-25 grad school, trained seriously, worked in running stores
25- head xc coach, local university
26- married
28- bought a house that i rebuilt for 7 months, a month later, we had our first child
29- saw social distortion (that was wednesday night) and hung out with the band afterward
life is pretty sweet, i gotta tell ya.
22/23 Second year of grad school--DNF'ed my PhD program; and coached the university's women's track team, which I had founded (aged 20) after a career-ending injury.
23/24 Coached the same team to top-three status (us and two PhysEd schools) in the State. But no paying job--lived off what I'd squirreled away from my grad school fellowship.
(Also did a lot of reading, trying to fill some of the gaps from my high-class education. And met and lost the love of my life.)
24/25 Started work in a warehouse for the university's press (44 hrs/wk), and continued coaching the team (similar hours); organized the (DI) conference's women's championship meets in xc and t&f, hosting the first track championship.
25/26 Still at the warehouse, still coaching.
26/27 Switched to a job in the library, and switched to coaching (still volunteer) at the college across town--men's distance assistant.
(Also became ambulatory enough to compete in the State's multi-sport competition: 50km racewalk.)
27/28 Went to a nearby city to return to school for a master's in PhysEd. Fulltime student; halftime asst to the dean (my grad asstship); and started women's track and cross country at the DI school (still a volunteer, still 40-50hr/wk).
28/29 Finished master's; continued coaching the squads that I'd started and brought them to varsity status; 50kmRW again.
29/30 Went to another university and coached (for pay, finally: $2,000/yr) their women's xc/t&f teams, bringing the former from club to varsity status. More 50kmRW.

Good times. Don't know much about popular culture (TV, movies, music) from those years, though. And, having taken the coach's vows of poverty and chastity (i.e. no personal relationships with one's athletes), I went long stretches without getting laid.
Which probably sucked, but I was mostly too busy to notice.

An exciting life, but not productive. I lived in the moment.
Now I'm a different person--planning and making things happen.
Less "high" and "low" moments, but it's better (I think). I even started to like mornings.
22 - Graduated from Uni. Got seriously sick. Got a full time job.
23 - Continued job. PB's over 5k/10k/HM.
24 - Continued job. Emergency intestinal surgery. Overseas travelling once recovered.
25 - Continued job. Got back into training, but short of PB shape.
26 - Continued job. Follow up intenstinal surgery on scar tissue from emergency op. Back into training once recovered.
27 - Continued job. Marathon debut - good training, disastrous end to the race. Hamstring tendonitis afterwards.
F*ck me that is a waste when broken down into basic descriptions like that.

22-25 won individual ncaa div. 1 cross-country championship graduated from princeton. Finished my first novel. got published and moved to L.A. to write screenplay. Married beautiful but unstable actress. Buried my troubles in surfing and beach culture while writing my second novel.
25-28. Outkicked by east african legend in Boston marathon. Won New york next year over him.
28-30 killed blackbeard the pirate in bloody hand to hand combat off the coast of north carolina
22-23 = finished undergrad and grad school
24-27 = worked in public accounting, did a lot of global backpacking (usually 1 month per year), hooked up with a lot of random girls, drank a lot...standard "single guy who finally has money" lifestyle.
28-29 = succumbed to quarter-life crisis and tried executive recruiting, realized I hated it, started dating my soon to be wife.
30 = moved back into accounting/finance field, married my wife, bought a house and became domesticated.
spent some time wondering why I gave all that money to liberal dopes who don't know what goes on in the real world
Worked night shift at a warehouse in a small town near Houston. Went to acting school in LA briefly. Returned to Houston (girlfriend reasons). Worked at shitty job in insurance company (I delivered forms to different departments). Realized that acting careers are hard to sustain, especially in Houston, and shitty jobs were going to be my destiny. Returned to college (I had a year of jr college under my belt and some of the acting school transerred). Graduated college at 32. Life got much better.
Nothing.
Steel mills crashed. Left town. Found work in the adult video world. Got laid about 11 times per day. No fun.
It became a dreaded job.
Now I am married to a wonderful lady who treats me like most married women. She shut me off right after the marriage...and I love it. I get laid about every two weeks for about 30 minutes.
My years from 22-30 were a waste!!!

22 purposely took an extra year to graduate, totally worth it
23 Graduated undergrad, went to Brazil for the 3rd time
24 Started Grad School i.e. had no life, but managed to finish a basement for fun
25 Got owned by grad school, started brewing beer and wine, found out i have colitis (bad news bears)
26 I had my revenge on grad school, learned how to weld, started making good beer, started climbing, re-started running, kicked colitis into remission
And next year ought to be graduation
20 - soph yr of college, finally get my mile time down to 4:14 after not PR'ing my frosh yr. (running xc, indoor and outdoor) at a D1 school. start dating girl on team and fall head over heals
21 - best year of xc, missing ncaa as individual by 10 seconds. 24:50s in xc
22 - nearly die of 4 pulmonary embolisms from undiagnosed pre-existing condition. red shirt, gf cheats on me with my coach.
23 - 5th year of school. run terrible in xc. PR in track for 5k 14:50s.. start getting into improv at college.
24 - debate between going to get my masters or staying in school more (now my 6th year...) working part time for my moms office and taking improv classes. quit running for next 5 years.
25 - being touring with a national hip hop/comedy show to colleges and other venues. working at a bar to get by. also start a 2 man comedy show that ends up being critically acclaimed within the year. first experiment with drugs...pick up smoking cigarettes.
26 - hit rock bottom doing drugs and drinking almost every day. finally have to sober up for a few months...decide to get a real job
27 - meet current gf, loving my job, doing comedy shows on weekends at various clubs, we move in together, get a cat..life is getting better.
28 - promoted to manager within my company, go back into hip hop and start recording songs, release my first album on itunes, start running again and doing local 5K's
29- quit smoking, still recording songs, getting back into shape still
22- Studied abroad in Eastern Europe, finished last semester of undergrad
23 - Took a job in NYC that was scarily similar to Office Space. But, as most have described, I took full advantage of having money and real independence... lots of booze, rock shows, raves, etc. LOTS of training too, PRs at 2M, 5k, 5M
24 - Jan 1st - quit said job and moved in with a buddy of mine on the beach in La Jolla, CA. Lots of weed, drinking, surfing, doing nothing. Took my first serious break from running due to a knee injury. Drove around the US couchsurfing for a while. Worked for the census, then spent the summer in Italy with the gf, started grad school in the fall
Just turned 25 a few days ago, and I'm optimistic about the next 5 years.
Became a billionaire.
Fuc\ked a lot of women. I think that was mostly it. When I wasn't actually fuc\king I was planning my next fu\ck.
All in all a pretty good decade.
I concentrated on running, trying to get the lowest prs in various events until i retired at age 30 and then got more serious about a family, wife and work career. No, I don't regret it. I did work the entire time, picked up a masters degree too, (working part time, those 2 years).
