    I sure ruined that story! Thank you for correcting my two errors Old Ultra Guy.

    Bob Beamon won his gold medal in 1968 in Mexico City with a great jump. He became the first jumper to jump more than 28 feet. He jumped 29 feet, 2 and a half inches.

    About 8 % more than the then current record of Ralph Boston which barely broke into the 27s at 27 foot one half inch
