No, the NCAA and Auburn know Cam's daddy solicited money. There is no doubt about that at all. Auburn threw their attorneys at the NCAA and threatened legal action.
I think the Newton's got something for going to Auburn but it was not cash. It was most likely services or donated materials for the church, probably with several parties (3rd, 4th, etc.) the actual "donor" from the "provider." Auburn was most certainly not directly, or indirectly involved. Auburn fans, alumni, boosters, admires, call them whatever. Someone like this was involved.
The real messy part of this is how to you determine if a donation to a church was a real donation or a payoff filtered through several different layers.
In the end Auburn and their fans will get screwed. They will be sickened by what the Newtons have done to them. Meanwhile, Cam Newton will be in the NFL making a truck load of real cash. Cash that doesn't have to be filtered, hidden, or laundered.
Oh, and why did the NCAA clear Newton to play? It'$ all about the money. The SCE playing in the NC games means more money to the NCAA, the SCE and Auburn.
