So, dumb fu@k, explain to us just how someone screwed up. The Oregon bid was always predicated on hope of holding the meet in the Portland area, with the racetrack site named as the probable site from the beginning. Nothing was ever promised by either the University of Oregon or the NCAA. It didn't work (something the NCAA and Oregon knew was possible from the beginning), so now the NCAA will have to actually select an alternative location. But, if high school children on the internet want to make it something it never was....so be it. They have a sand box and they can play in it alone. These Oregon/Nike haters are something special for the rest of us to laugh at.
With the guidelines that are required to host the NCAA meet - it seems impossible that the NCAA would have ever even considered Portland Meadows. Also, knowing that the Men's NCAA Chanpionship race is 10k - it seems crazy the Oregon would want to have the meet at Portland Meadows. The sad part is now an instituition needs to step forward and host Pre-Nats and the NCAA Meet - I also think that on such short notice Terre Haute is the only option.
