There is absolutely zero reason to believe a non-NY team will win this year or any time in the near future. End of story.

Absolutely correct.
With a course laid out by a NY coach, run in conditions similar to those in NY and with 7th and 8th graders on their rosters, there's no reason NY teams should ever lose at NXN.

Stop whining about the weather conditions, you Cali folks are a bunch os pansies.
One thing you never mention and either do the folks back east is that the New Yorkers travel across the country (3 time zones), usually have to get up at 4:30am two days before the race to catch the flight. The folks on the west coast don't have to worry about time zone changes or any of that other stuff, yet still can't get it done.
Maggie Malone. She was hot on Growing Pains.

Aj Acosta and Michael Coe went 1-2 at Footlocker in 2005. psh, Cali folks can't get it done... oh and 2 more words, German Fernandez

Yes because there is so many courses like the NXN course in NY.
Boo hoo, Saratoga has an advantage because there is a horse track there!

Yea, they went 1,2 in a race in their home state, what happened to your course advantage crap in this case? Also, does Coe still run? What's that wimp Fernandez up to these days, what's the injury of the day?
Man you just keep it up with excuse after excuse. name a 7th and 8th grader on a winning NXN squad the past 6 years from NY that was in their top 5! as far as i know it's been 1 girl, Courtney Chapman from Fm and she was their 5th girl when the won in 2006.
I think the cali teams are outstanding, but the excuses they make up crack me up. Like " the Ny teams have an advantage, becasuse they dont race the week before regionals", that is false!!
It's not the weather, its not the 7th and 8th graders, its not the course, it's the NY teams have been BETTER the last 6 years. Facts are Facts!
Now any team can win on any day and as i have said before, FM, Saratoga and Saugus all have a great shot to win it this year. There is no biased here, i just call it the way i see it.
Jesuit is going to be very tough. Not saying they will win, but there will not be three teams better than them from NY.
Looks like the #2 Cali team is coming to Manhattan this year! Not only will Saratoga destroy them, but they will put an end to the dabate that Cali is anywhere near NY! Hollowood FTW in Eastern States!

Well to whoever wrote this, Saratoga should destrot the #2 Cali team, HOWEVER; this will not put an end to the debate that Cali is anywhere near NY. Not sure if you checked, but Saugus is at least two minutes faster than any other team in Cali.
I admit that Jesuit looks great on paper AND they should have a ton of hard to quantify advantages from being the "local" team. The weather won't be similar to their weather it will be their weather. They have plenty of access to the course and no need to travel across the country and cross multiple time zones before their big race. In spite of all of that they have yet to come close to getting the job done at NTN or NXN. Maybe 2010 will be their year. It certainly could be.
You're right, having 7th and 8th graders training and racing with high school girls isn't in any way an advantage.
For some unknown reason, NTN/NXN results do not list a single 7th or 8th grader as ever having run in the races. Unfortunately, this isn't actually the case.
Do I have to list more than another 8th grader - how about Keelin Hollowood in 2008? I'm too lazy to look up the other younger girls as I did the last time someone claimed no 7th-8th graders have scored at NTN/NXN.

Is Amira Joseph running XC for Jesuit this fall? She doesn't show up in the time trial results. Without her I don't see Jesuit as a top 5 team.
I'm from NY and am a MS coach. I thinks it's a huge advantage to have 7 & 8th graders run for NY xc teams. They have the advantage of training for two or three years even if they aren't top seven in 7th or 8th grade. I feed the hs program with potential top runners and get these kids running the summer before 8th and 9th grade with the hs girls. Sometimes we can even get incoming 7th graders to join.
Yes, please list more if there has been more.
So thats 2. You really think that having 7th and 8th graders has been such an advantage for the NY squads?
When it comes to NXN i dont think it's been that big of an advantage. Saratoga '04, Hilton '05, FM '07, '08 and '09 had no 7th and 8th graders scoring.

Read what the NY coach has to say just above.
Think about Argyle finishing second at Feds in 2003 (I think that's it) with only 7th and 8th graders (including Nicole Blood and Caitlin Lane).
One last thought: if you look at national championship teams in all nationally competed sports, you'll find year to year that they bounce around among different states, mostly the larger ones. How is it possible for one state to dominate a sport for 15 straight years?
And if it's not the integration of 7th and 8th graders, why haven't the NY boys teams achieved the same dominance?
Nicole Blood never attended Argyle at any time...you're probably thinking of Emily Fung.
Nicole Blood was never at argyle. She was at Saratoga frosh to junior year (Left the program just prior to Spring 2005 her junior year.)
As i said in my previous posts i was talking about NXN not the NY Feds. In your earlier post you said NY should dominate because they are allowed to use 7th and 8th graders. Thats not the reason they are so dominant, there are a lot of other reasons why they are the best and have won NXN 6 years in a row.
I have never said that NY is the only state capable of winning NXN. I agree with you that Saugus has a great chance of winning NXN this year (so does FM and Toga)and california has a number of excellent teams behind Saugus. I originally posted because i said there were to many excuses from the cali people of why they lose. They have lost because the NY teams have been better period.
NY girls are just better then the NY boys. At 7th and 8th grade girls are usually more mature then 7th and 8th grade boys at that point, i think thats why you see it more on the girls side of 7th and 8th graders making varsity or being brought up to varsity. Like i said before they NY teams have not achieved their dominance strictly on the basis of using 7th and 8th graders on their teams. I think you know that is true.
Not sure, was there news of her not? I agree completely. As somewhat of an Jesuit hater I'm certainly glad Paige Rice didn't go there, but as an Oregon XC fan, it would have been nice for her addition to give Jesuit enough fire power to finally crack a podium spot.
