What happened to Georgia State University XC Head Coach?

Good for her to take the job she wanted. She has every right to do so. However, when coaches move around it affects the lives of the 18 to 22 year olds who were counting on her. It's funny how coaches preach loyalty but we see them jumnp ship for the next best thing so quickly. Moving on after four or five years is one thing but moving on after a few months is not a sign of good character.

She was never there to affect anyones lives. So good for her.

This is so simple.

She, Sylvia, is a barely adequate coach at any level. She is one of Corn's Cronies who have infested USTFFCCA. Not that they do a bad job but they are the grave yard for coaches who can't coach.

You have incompetent coaches all around at Georgia State - a place that doesn't care now - or has ever really cared.

Tongue ring - not appropriate for a coach - I don't care what anyone says.

She got the job because she is white female well connected and she has plastic and a tongue ring - duh!

So as an athlete in Georgia I was wondering if anyone knew of what was going on with the XC head coach position. It's my financial safety school and if I knew there was an actual coach there then it would make the school a great deal more probable of me going to it.

I've ran 15:53 in the 5k and a 33:54 10k

Call Chris woods the asst coach. Go for a visit. See if you even like the school. Visit with the runners.

Will Woods be promoted? Looks like he has only 1 year of ANY coaching experience.

He want be promoted. It's good he's there though because he was a all american track guy so he will be more helpful going into indoor and outdoor season.

Yes, what 1500m/3000m/Steepler/5000m/10000m runner wouldn't want a 4x400m all american coaching them during their college years.

No. I've talked to him on he phone. He will not.

I find it hard to believe the current assistant coach has no idea who his next supervisor will be.

Since Sylvia hired her assistant, does he have job security? Wouldn't a new Head coach bring in his or her own assistant(s)?
