You are retarded. Highschool boys have broken 4:00, never mind Olympians who have broken 3:55

That's the attitude, tell yourself you aren't going to be good. Definitely one way of never getting better.
So what were your times in high school end up being?? @brendan
sub 5 and you will considered "good" for a frosh. sub 4:50 and you are looking semi promising as a potential future elite HS runner. sub 4:40 and you are really fast simple as that. still decent with sub 5:10
Yes for example, austin tamango ran a 4:09 as a freshman absolute phenom. But his pr as a junior was a 4:06
Actually 8 high schoolers have broken 4 minutes.
I ran a 4:45 as a frosh. thats a good time to shoot for. just shoot to break 5 and you'll be fine ;)
Wow. I'm in Kansas in a town of 700 some. Our school went through a name change like 16 years ago, and now it's mile record is 4:43. First for 3A schools at Kansas last year was 4:35. The best mile ran at the 3A state meet in the history of Kansas is 1 4:15 something. I am a freshman and my best time has been a 5:24. I plan on getting first at state, I have bent my whole life on it. This is all I wanted to say.
800-2:31
1600-5:24
3200-12:45*
5000-19:40
* Ran with an allergic reaction, so pretty sucky.
Upped my 800 to 2:22, 1600 to 5:17, and my 3200 to 11:41. Two or three meets left in my freshman year.
456
448
442

he's trying to be funny because all the HSers to go sub four did so in a 1609meter race. which isn't 1600m by name. but it still contains at least 1600m so he just sounds stupid while trying to be funny.
I wouldn't quite agree. I would probably say 5:20 Is about average for a freshman. And while I don't think 4:55 Is prodigee by any means, as a guy who runs that time there are only about 8 other freshman in my state that can do that
I am a freshmen and i know for sure what's a good mile time for freshmen I run a 4:40 mile and I just work on it a lot like I run at least 60 miles a week and that's after practice and a good mile time for a freshmen boy would be ab 4:50-5:00
But also you shouldn't really worry about time just run your own race buddy

Not to burst your bubble but we have a freshman boy on our team that ran sub 4:35 this season on a lot less mileage.
That's great man there's three freshmen under 4:20 from my school

You didn’t break 5 minutes in the mile by junior year, and you improved that much in the senior year, can you give me your prs from your previous years, and how quickly did you drop that time to a 4:20
