Oh, it's not about imposing value system on another, it's just not our 'cup of tea'. I was merely agreeing with the poster who gave examples and if you notice, I did state not ALL clubs are like that...and as for paying to exercise and get a logo shirt--again, I don't pay to 'exercise', I try to 'race' the event, I careless about the t-shirts.
No need to get offensive, we can certainly afford to join a CC, in fact the one we looked at few years ago was just as much as a down payment on a home OR same amount of money someone could buy a nice home...
We give plenty to charities and volunteer to our services, in fact I will be helping hubby in the future to start up a 5k/10k race that will be sponsored by his work.
I just find at LEAST in our area, the CC's are EXTREMELY full of snobby people and the funny thing is--we are in the same income category, we just like to be humble about our status, that's all.
Nothing wrong with others joining a CC, again if the OP wishes to do so then great! No insecurities on our part.
