Glad you thought so.The 4x2000m @10K pace, and the 60 minute 10 mile seem reasonable and doable. To put it in perspective, you are doing a total of 8K at your 10K pace, and the 10 mile at around what could be your marathon pace. (Some say 5x2K at 10K pace is harder than a 10K, so you may want to go a little slower. I think it's best when your last rep is as fast as the others). If these seem daunting now, that tells me you need them. Just don't forget to recover enough from them.Speed may also be a weakness, but that probably won't bring down your 5K and 10K times the way you want. I would suggest endurance and stamina first, then speed. (Then race, breakdown, and repeat).Hope this helps you.

Agree.
And rekrunner, you make some good points. I should be working on my stamina as well with tempo runs and the like.
One of the posters above mentioned doing 10 milers under 60 min. and longer reps with short recoveries such as 4 x 2000m @ 10K pace. For me, that would be daunting right now. Probably should start by doing them at 5:30-5;40 pace and work my way down from there.
Although I ran 4:36 in the mile, my speed is still a weakness. I don't think I can break 2:12 in the 800 right now.
