Smith redshirted last spring so her pr is from freshman year. Marino's 5k is not super-fast but she was All-American indoors and outdoors in that event. Reid ran 4:35 in the mile only months removed from hip surgery.

No matter what way you look at it, both teams are very good. They both seem to have some great middle distance talent and girls who can clock pretty fast 5ks as well. We can speculate all we want but it really all comes down to who will bring it on race day. Here's hoping for an East Side- West Side clash for the books!

I wish we ran 8k...

And Marino's 5k is still very good... especially considering she set her PR at a championship meet.

Washington should crush the World record in the 4x1500 in the Spring.

tallman and simpson are on vu's team, just to be clear. the spacing got messed up there.

If Washington crushes the world record, it would mean very little, because their 4X1500 meter times would be beat by over 5 seconds by Oregon. This was duly noted by the earlier post from Teddy Graham that compared the Oregon/Washington 1500 meter PR's.
