MLB is a phony sport. The players are all lanced. Don't watch MLB.

Yeah I'm not saying they won't have their work cut out. But the yankees were awesome in close games this year, look at how many walk off wins they had. 6 of those 7 games could have gone either way but it's not coincidence that the all went to the yankees, they have alot of power and very good pitching.
That said, I just bought ALCS tickets so chances are we get knocked out od the ALDS in three games...though getting my $450 bucks back will probably make me feel alot better about my team losing haha.
CC is in a groove through 5. Jeter HR (to LF no less) Go Yanks!
ARod RBI single, Matsui 2 run Shot.

7-2 Yanks. Top of the 8th.
Game 1 to the Yanks.
Fair play to the Yankees tonight; but I yearn for the days when there will be a salary cap in baseball and the results will reflect brains, not just pocketbooks.

I also posted the mathematical correction 30 minutes before your reply. Thanks buddy.
You still haven't addressed my main point--why the hell are you rooting for the Dodgers? Of all NL teams, they should be the one you should hate MOST (besides mets of course). You think Torre would like anything better than beating the Yankees in Game 7 at Yankee Stadium? He would revel in it. He doesn't give a sh*t about the Yankees anymore. He hates them.
You aren't a Yankees fan if you root for another team. Like I said, you're a Torre fan and not a Yankees fan.

Share the wealth, right? Boo to free markets!
I don't think that they will ever enforce a salary cap, but what they should do is have an international draft and having slotting, meaning rookies have pay scales based on where they were drafted.
Yes I did here this on ESPN, but it was a good point.

Unfortunately, many owners don't share your yearning. They're happy to pocket their share of the Yankees' luxury tax and not bother trying to field a team that can either compete on the field or attract enough fan support to generate its own revenue.

This is true, salary caps also come with salary floors, which some small owners (Loria) don't want. They are happy to spend as little as possible.
OK buddy last time I'm adressing this. I never said I'm rooting for the Dodgers. I never said I hope the Dodgers beat the Yankees. I said I hope Torre out manages Girardi.
La Russa is by far the best manager, but it would be great to see Torre get back to the WS and play against NY. Of course he doesn't care who his team plays but it would be nice to see him back in the Bronx and I'm sure the crowd would cheer for him.
Of all the NL I have never rooted for (I don't hate pro sports teams, that's silly, it's a business) is Atlanta. Calling themselves America's Team is just stupid.

Miguel Cabrera will come alive Tuesday and not be hung over like in Saturday's game.

Well, another idiot.
As usual, overlooking the opponent right in front of you.
The twins are the team that was SEVEN games back in September!!!!
Give the twinkies their props. The Tigers showed how to choke, and the Twinds showed that winners find a way to win.
Detroit: "stick to hockey"
Yankees are not going to lose a 5 game series to ANYBODY.
Yanks win in 4 against the Twins.
Redsox beat AA in 5. Redsox v Yankees in ALCS.
Yanks win that in 6.
Yankees v. Dodgers in World Series.
Yankees win that in 6.
Twins will win!
For the second time this year, Joe Nathan entered the game in the bottom of the ninth in Yankee stadium with a two run lead and yacked it up. I am this close to hating Joe Nathan.
Signed,
a Twins fan
It's almost not fair. They're not as good as the '98 Yanks but just as fun to watch. Dammit, Damon just lined into a double play. Here we go to the 11th.
1st and 2nd for the Twins in the 11th...nobody out.

Nathan looked like he had absolutely no confidence out there. He looked scared to death and disoriented. Not what you want in a closer.
