obviously answer is no, but they both looked good out there.
didn't seem to have anything too shocking out there, but will be interesting to see how teams come out of it. GAC men were worse than i expected. olaf men looked pretty solid-compared to other MIAC (WIAC was very impressive).
okay, miac, enuff of your year long banter of inbreed bashing---can you show something? myGod , you guys type better than your run!
miac we kinda suck wrote:

Anyone know what's up with Hailey Brenden and Brooke Beskau? Both of their teams were at Griak but they weren't. Injured?

Thwy were busy with your mom.
Saw Besku limping around at the meet. Not sure how long she will be out, but I assume that's why she wasn't racing. No clue on Brenden.
of course the miac looks weak compared to the WIAC. give us james kraja and denise mokoya and every other DII state school runner in the state and we'd be impressive too.of course the big state schools that are "Division III" are going to look good. i'd also be a hell of a JV high school runner.
Even with the D2 talent in MN, you would still be behind the WIAC. Stupid hypothetical too.
Stop looking for excuses for why you can't compete.
so i don't suppose you'd mind having hassan mead and the whole lot of D1 guys racing the WIAC teams then? that'd be fair right?
Johnnies look good, but lost to Nebraska Wesleyan by nearly 100 points.

That course is a glorified road race, not a CC course like you'll see around here. Sathre ran just as fast yesterday on a wet soggy course compared to Franta's pumped up road race time. If UST can find a 5th runner the conference meet is their's for the taking.
Not so fast my friend! I think it will be a close race but there are a few teams that can take the title. A few of those Johnnies were hurt and didnt race at Olaf...Should be a good one either way!
Eau-Claire has always been a fast course...even if it was soggy it still is way faster than most!

Eau Claire is a pretty fast course. It is not lightning fast like Oshkosh. The course is sometimes short for some runners though because the painted line goes around trees, but there ar eno flags so some runners cut a lot of measured distance off.
If anyone wanted to go through the trouble, you could compare SJU and UST results to previous years on those same courses. I don't care that much, so I'm not going to. I'm fine with leaving it as a 3-4 team battle for the championship.

GAC's Mark Hartman didn't finish at Griak. As for Willamite and Eau Claire, both courses are significantly faster than a "normal" course, making any predictions based off of those two iffy at best. As for conference, I'd say it's a two team showdown between Olaf and St. John's with Hamline and St. Thomas as darkhorses. Augsburg, Bethel, Gustavus, and Carleton will be duking it out for those next places, which I think depends heavily on what team's 4th and 5th runners step up that day.
I'm surprised St. Thomas hasn't recovered from its five years of sucking. They used to be the powerhouse of the MIAC. What happened?
I think it is fair to say at this point that three maybe even four teams have a decent shot at winning conference.
St Olaf
St Thomas
St Johns
maybe Hamline
The next good indicator of the teams fittness will be at La Crosse. It's all going to come down to what team has their top five on the day of conference. Out of the four you have to figure at least two teams will have one of their top five have an off day and lose the shot at confererence. All the teams are that deep this year. Possibly St Johns has the deepest team giving them the advantage for conference.
