The question is if we all be came vegetarians to cut back on cows producing methane would we as humans generate far more methane due to diet. Not saying right or wrong just asking has anyone calculated those numbers. In all seriousness they don't call her "whoopi" Goldberg for nothing she's a vegetarian.

bootsie, Right on all counts. You do know what you are talking about. The transition here in central Wisconsin from small family run herds to factory style confinement dairy barns is dismal as well.
The EPA is giving the methane issue some thought. About 2 months ago a proposal to tax dairy cattle emmisions at the rate of $175/year and beef cattle at $87.50 received some press.
Meat substitutes are gross.
I like meat but don't mind eating vegetarian meals, either. I dated a vegetarian for a while. There are plenty of great tasting foods that don't involve dressing something up as meat. I feel the same way about fake burgers as I do about low-fat ice cream. If I'm going to eat a burger or ice cream then give me the real thing.

You global warming bliss ninnies ignore that fact that warm periods have been the best periods of human history. The medieval warm period saw famine to be almost nonexistent in Europe because crops were so successful. The idea that warm weather will spell the end of mankind is foolish.
Next, tell me exactly what temperature you would like us to attempt to regulate the earth to. And what do we do when a volcano blows up, and the ash cloud lowers the avg earth temp by a degree or more? Cold weather, early frost, crop failures... and massive starvation in 3rd world nations.
