early NCAA D1 XC predictions

Ok state > Oregon

Where will Fernandez, Puskedra, Derrick, and Estrada end up?

Can all of them make top 10? top 20? top 30? top 40? top 50?

I think the they all can make top 20.

Okie State defintely has the potential to win it, but sadly they have to be lucky. What... did 6 of 7 of their guys blow up at NCAA xc last year? Some coaching.

Hopefully, luck will be on their side.

You got the individual finishing exactly right. But on the team front OK State doesn't have much after Fernandez, Kosgei and Lowe. Very, very doubtful that they will win. Even top three team finish is a stretch.

we have seen that fast track times don't necessarily mean fast at cross country. Last year, New Mexico had some really fast track times, and didn't even make nationals for cross. This year the return:

Chris Barnicle- Sub 29 10K runner

David Bishop- #1 most of last year during cross. 4 flat miler.

Rory Frasier- 13:39 5K

Jacob Kirwa- 14:00 5K and 2nd at regionals.

Lee Emanuel- Could be a breakout cross season after running 30:09 at regionals for cross last season. Also...3:37 speed.

Personally, I'd like to see osu beat out oregon. They're kinda like the underdog story in my mind, but as one guy said, 6 out of 7 guys tanked at NCAA's. That can't be blamed on the runners, that's lack of good coaching. These guys are suppose to be legit! Well, at least their coach can recruit, he sure can't coach.

Any of those guys could be all americans in cross as the first four have been.

2)Stanford- 2 all-american 5k guys + an all american 10 guy

I believe that Acosta is not on the team anymore, he got kicked of the team with the incident at indoor nats

I think Wisconsin is the wild card. They could be top three or tenth. They really need Gasper, Miller, and Bolas to preform in cross country

nobody will beat chelanga, the only person that has a chance is mcneil because he has the best kick out of anybody else that would be close fernandez will get 4th behind derrick, mcneil, and chelanga

Yeah, that's right, and any of you think that a true 1500-5k guy is going to beat a true 5k to 10k guy...you better think twice.

Do you have any idea how much it takes to finish top 5 as a Freshmen?

First, you have to be born with some real genetic ability.

Second, you have to have developed the guts to train for that distance.

Third, you have to been in a program that knows how to train you for that run.

Puskedra, is a natural at CC, and has done better there than at the track so far. He clearly was not intimidated by the pace, or the race, at last years XC.

He could be the next "Rupp" for Oregon.

There are too many HORSES for Oregon.

The odds just stack in their favor. The new freshmen? One of them is going to break out and make the top 50 or better at NCAA's.

Puskedra, Centro (going top 25 or better). The twins, stepping up and going top 30, Mr. KK, going top 40, and 3 great incomin Frosh...

It is defending Champs Oregon, until someone else Proves it.

Oh, and there is that little Dedicated, Team Player Andrew Wheating...sacrificing his 800 training to gain points in Cross...

Well let's just say that Oregon has one hell of a team, and re-born tradition...

So don't count them out...And better still...
