Does Rupp in all his focus REALLY look like he was "showboating"? C'mon, that dude was 100% business. He is not the showboating type. His biggest showboat move is a wave to the crowd at the end of a race. Usain Bolt is a showboater and he is loved for it. Rupp is a hard working runner on a mission and he gets called for showboating when he is clearly spot checking? There were dudes all over the track at that point and Rupp wanted to make sure that he knew where Forrest was. Believe it or not that is showing respect to Forrest because it shows that Rupp actually believes that Forrest could still be coming on him at that pace.

Rupp haters, you are standing on a sinking boat. You have very little hope or anything to stand on at this point.

Rupp is:

Fast, Clutch, Improving, Nerves of Steel, A master tactition, The ultimate team player, 100% self belief, Honest and respectful, A winner.

You really can't argue any of these points any more so what are you left with?

Can we be honest about how petty and insecure you have to be to make these kind of remarks?

I can say with 100% certainty that 98% of slowpoke - elite runners do not come across any more studly/manly or cool than Galen Rupp. Honestly. So lets just drop that because you are basically just making fun of yourselves. Do you think women drive down the road and see you gutting thru your 6:30 miles, all skin and bones and nervous, awkward determination on your face, and think to themselves "ohh hell yeah, that's a man!"? Get a grip. If you need a role model that is a stud you had better identify with a completely different sport, and seek a psycologist.

Yes there's the old standby that Rupp has all these special advantages. When people complain about others advantages all I can think is LOSER. Only losers sit and complain about others advantages. Be real, you know this is true. Winners don't complain, they shut up and go make it happen themselves. You want an altitude tent to suddenly make you great? Go buy one. You want a great coach? Run fast and get one. There are plenty of great places to train in the world, lots of them better than Eugene or Portland, and you are free to move to any of them. The fact is you won't. You'll sit and complain.

What really makes Rupp different from you haters is what's between his ears. That's what has taken him from national class to world class (yes I'm giving you a lot of credit by putting you in the national class category but humor me). It's the fact that no matter how much hardship or failure, the dude does not give up for a second. He doesn't get outkicked, then make a bunch of excuses and go pound beers in depression and complain to his friends. He is immediately back on it, relentlessly, year after year. He's always working on every aspect of being a great runner and he now has a lot of tools and they are all sharp.

If you cannot respect that, as runners or once was runners, how can you honestly respect yourselves?
