Plenty of similar stories at Virginia and W&M. If I remember right Ryan Foster (Virginia) was not a standout in HS. And also a guy named Ed Moran (W&M) who was barely under 9:30 as a 2miler in HS and turns into a world class athlete. So lets not act like Virginia Tech is the king of developing less-than-standout HS runners, because there are plenty of similar stories at the other schools mentioned.

VT: 39

VT had two champions and one runner up. (if you even count the steeple which was weak as ****)

UVA had one champion and one runner up.

Oh, that is without two UVA guys who went 1-2 indoors in the 5k (Amirault and Foley).
