How about instead of saying that I am 2 for 5 with my picks you tell us your picks?
fair enough. kaul takes 5 again (again as in addition to indoor). sigl takes 10 again. kosgei takes steeple again, and also the 15. o'brien takes 8 again.
boring...but accurate, methinks.

gotta think kosgei will try an insane triple... 1500, steeple, 5k? or steeple, 5k, 10k? other contenders are sigl, wager, macpherson in the 1500 or 5k, think zdroik woud move up to 5k?
on the women's side: i would bet zerzan in the 5k and adams in the 10k. what about montgomery, wizawatty and alex krieg from xc? where'd geneseo and plattsburgh go after xc? krieg did well in the 5k indoors, but i think she could move up. do jordahl or esther erb do steeple?
Not a chance. Heard he wouldn't run the 5k at indoor nats because it was too long for him. No way he runs the 5k, let alone 10k, at outdoors when there's the option to double in the steeple and 1500.
if anyone saw kosgei's kicks at nationals, you would definitely say his strengths are in the 800-1500 races and not the 5k-10k races.

Yea 5k definitely isnt his race. He only ran 1426 in december by himself. He could take the 5k if he wanted to and i think he will. He'll get the steeple too and pass on the 800 and 1500. His margins of victory in both of those werent that big, zdroik was right on his ass in the mile.
His mile kick was not very impressive.
Maybe so, but his Steeple Kick was phenomenal. The race at Nats went out at a fast pace, i think around 67 or so for the first lap, and he hammered it home. Putting 6 seconds between himself and Erichsen, a solid runner, on the last 300 meters.
Also, two Wartburg Provos in the 5k.
does anyone know whether zdroik is running the outdoor season? I heard his back or knee (?) is screwed up. If this is true than I can't think of anyone really challenging kosgei in the 1500. also, was it true that zdroik was drunk at indoor nationals, I heard he was kinda out there.

Yeah, impressive. Looks like NYU gets an auto qualifier and two provisionals (any thoughts on whether they'll make it in?). Nice tandem of Haverford guys, as well.
Pretty sure Bruce Bickford doesn't coach at USM anymore, but obviously someone is getting the job done.
Willy Kaul ran a 30:30 last night at Stanford. Solid time that usually makes it into the meet. Although it is early...
I'm surprised nobody mentioned James O'Brien from Ohio Northern running 3:47 as well at Princeton.
Really nice 10k. Hany always seems to be in the mix at nats, but never seems to win. Maybe he\'ll take one this spring.
Nice run by O\'Brien. I wonder if he\'s considering a move up after losing his 800 crown on his home track this winter...
kosgei goes 9 flat in the steeple at Hamilton's 1st outdoor meet of the season.

Out in 57.X.
Erichsen runs 9:04 Steeple.
Why hasn't Zerzan been racing? By this time last year she already had run all of her best times of the season. Their conference meet is in 2 weeks too. Seems kind of odd. On the other hand I think people may be overlooking Wiszowaty who has been runner up twice and Catherin Beck (I could see her moving up to 10k maybe).
Hany, NYU and Haverford had great 10k's this weekend. Cortland on the other hand wasn't all that impressive in a 5k that they geared for last year.
Lovin' it, Jimmy. Keep up the good work.
Kosgei ran low 1:51 yesterday. Id like to see the guy Auto in the 800-5k (including the Steeple).
Also, what does Jimmy O'Brien's 1500 time come out to in the Mile?
