Here were the top 10 teams from last year
1. Calvin - They return 2-3-5-6-7, four of those were all-americans in cross, and the last guy was 51st. Had 3 different non-seniors hit qualifying marks in track. They are incredibly deep, and if they run xc like they did last year, they will be tough to beat
2. NYU - Definitely good enough to challenge Calvin. Returning all but their number 6 guy, and they had 4 different returners hit qualifying marks in track.
3. Allegheny - They ran out of their minds last year at nationals, and I think they may fall off the trophy map this year. They return 1-3-4-6-7, but their 6 and 7 guys are wayy back.
4. Cortland - They return all but their number 4, and had 3 non-seniors hit qualifiers in track. Could be up with NYU and Calvin if they really get it together
5. St. John's - Basically in the same boat as Cortland, returning all but their number 4 guy, with 2 different qualifiers in track
6. Luther - Only bring back their 3-4-6, wont be able to place as high with their returning squad
7. Williams - Same deal as Luther, they return 3-4-5. They are historically pretty deep, so some guys could come up big for them, but things look so damn competitive this year that they'll probably have trouble improving on their '06 finish
8. TCNJ - Return their 1-6 guys, had 2 qualifiers in track. They could make some noise
9. Oshkosh - Return 1-2-4-7, but there's a huge gap after their number 4. Not expecting much.
10. Haverford - Return all but their number 2 guy, but he'll be replaced by an all-american in the steeplechase who didn't run xc last fall. Had 4 qualifiers in track who will be returning. Could also make a lot of noise.
Based off that, my top 6...
Calvin
NYU
Cortland
Haverford
St. Johns
TCNJ
