I can't believe I found this on my own: Regina Jacobs Being Inducted into Ethnic Hall of Fame

couple things. Yes, I'd fly across the country to go. Pay the rediculous fee for the induction. Then i'd heckle the hell out of her and the ethnic council. HOWEVER, I doubt there will be a question/answer portion of the program so the chances are I would not get my moneys worth. For that reason I will not be attending this year (or probably any other) Therefor send my regards.

I do wonder though, why this campaign to lynch another black makes you think more people are going to come around to "your side" and think that it's right.

That didn't work in the middle ages of the 20th century and it's not going to work now. I'm sure there are many like me, who have more and more respect for Regina Jacob and her dignified silence. She has made her statements and is living her life.

Listening to that first interview does tell it all, but not in the way that you think.

Jacobs lied and cheated for many years. There isn't anything dignified in that, home boy. OJ Simpson is living his life too, as well as Marion Jones.

All have a few people still in their corner. After all, no one saw OJ with a bloody knife and no one has claimed to have actually seen Jacobs or Jones stick a hypodermic needle in their ass.

But as a general rule of thumb, those OJ supporters who celebrated in the streets after his acquittal and those Jacobs and Jones supporters who clogged up various message boards for years defending those aren't eager to show their faces anymore.

I'm glad Regina Jacobs still has a friend, alternative opinion.

I don't really agree with everything you say, but I have to say that the majority of the reaction so far isn't encouraging, to put it mildly. This is so damn trivial, am I to believe that nobody else feels that there are much, much bigger fish to fry than worrying about some disgraced has-been going into some HoF that I've never heard of and never would have heard of if not for this site? Eye on the ball, people, RJ's day has come and gone, it's long gone, focus on the important thing here which would be to move closer to a day when someone like RJ is busted long before compiling a portfolio that would be considered worthy of induction into ANY HoF. Meanwhile we have people like Frank Shorter spouting euphemism after platitude and people give him a pass because of his athletic background and his law school-trained tongue is either convincing enough or confusing enough. If we ever want to get integrity back into the sport then we need to quit worrying about dead horses like RJ and hold authorities (Masback would be the most obvious one, how many years was he head of USATF while RJ got away with cheating?) accountable for the state they've led the sport into. Battling people who are completely outside of the sport over who they glorify in a HoF that basically nobody will be impacted by is stupid.

for what it's worth, orlando cepeda's son used to work at the payless (now rite aid) down the street from my house when i was a kid. i used to see him all the time when i'd buy MAD magazine and GI Joes.
