Who Got Sponsored By Shoes Campanies In 2006 And Who Got Dumped?

Is the Brooks ID program similar to Reebok Local Hero? What are the requirements to get Local Hero status at Reebok. I've heard you get a nice hook up if you qualify.

I've had several shoe companies offer me money not to wear their shoes. They're afraid I'll accidentally appear in a photo wearing them and tarnish their good name.

What e-mail do you use or where can you find out more about the Brooks ID program? I don't see anything about it at brooksrunning.com

Dean Karnazes just signed for $225,000 with North Face. Many media bonuses totaling close to $1 mil with performance bonuses (if he wins Western States, etc).

You need to call Brooks and then ask them about the Brooks ID program. Then they will e-mail you an application. But you better call soon.

I have been running for Brooks for the past 8 years. The rules change every year as well, but here is the deal. You simply call, ask for the gal who is in charge of this program and she will send you an application and you simply e-mail it back to her. Then sometime next week, they will let you know if you are on or not. I know it is not based on performance alone, but also how you represent your sport in the community. Good luck.

I forgot to add, if you went to Brooksrunning.com and clicked on FAQ's, the section on sponsorship is not current. Jesse Williams is no longer the person who heads up this program. It is a gal and sorry about not giving out her name, until I have personal permission from someone, I won't give out their name. Anyway, also new for this year is the program is divided into three levels, Blue, Red and Basic. Blue, I am sure is based on performance, and you get one year's worth of shoes, singlet and shorts, warm-ups and other apperal for free. Red, you get singlet and shorts and a free pair of shoes, plus your other gear at cost. Basic, you get your gear at cost. Most people get their gear at cost. So again good luck.

We had our Brooks rep in our store last night and were checking out the new line of shoes (the new Trance looks amazing by the way) and when I asked him about the "Brooks ID" program he looked at me like I had two heads. I used your explanation of what it was and he said he had never heard of anything like it. You also seem to be pretty skimp on the details of the whole thing. Unless you can pony up more info I would encourage others to remain skeptical.

Brooks ID is the new name for what used to be called Brooks Ambassador. I initially got involved in it 8 years ago, when I called Brooks about any kind of grassroots sponsorship. There have been many different people in charge over the years, with Jesse Williams being the one who was in charge for a few years, and then last year, a new gal took over. You have to call Brooks in Bothel, WA and ask to talk the person who is in charge of the Brooks ID/Brooks Ambassador program. Why your Brooks rep didn't know about the program, I don't know why. If you are seriously iterested in the program, just call them.

Badger boy, Brooks ID Program is in fact all that and more. Previous was known as Ambassador Program. Cutoff for consideration of Blue or Red was January 5. White level you can still apply. As far as the rep whithout a clue..probably so, most Brooks reps unless the speciality tech rep are with an agency and righfully so.
