Here's the deal for me, and I bet every single person at that event will have some similar sentiments. We all go out and train hard, and we all want that perfect race at some point. You know, the kind of race you dream about, but never seems to happen. Out workouts don't get much faster but we still dream of having that great race.
Mills did it on the big stage, but Weldon's 28:06 must have been his perfect race. I want to hear about the lead up to the race. Did you know it was coming? Was it a total surprise? Did you know it was going to be special at some point of the race, or were you wondering if the whole thing was going to come unglued the last mile? I want to hear about your emotions and thoughts during the lead up and race. 28:06 is not a WR, but it was a perfect race - I want a perfect race too. It won't be a WR either, but I want to learn and have that myself someday.
I honestly would be far less interested in internet-speak. I'm sick of the friggen internet. Most days, letsrun is nothing more than letsrunourmouths. I want to hear about the experience of real runners.
