I think the women\'s mile is going to be one heck of a race this year. I\'m excited to see how some of them double back in the 3k.

Not true. The last qualifier was around 8 minutes last year.

While the 3k field is very good, it's almost identical to what it looked like last year. I think Hall was the last to get in at 7:56.xx. So, no improvement from last year to this year, but still a superb field. Also, any thoughts on galen doubling while not being ranked in the top 8 in either event? Will he pull of something huge or will he blow up? I thought Salazar didn't want to overrace him in the collegiate system.

Pardon my ignorance, but how can Christian Smith not have an entry in the 800? Did he just not get into a good 800 this year, opting to run the 1000 instead? Doesn't make much sense to me. That being said, it will be exciting to see if he can sneak into the top 5 in the mile... he certainly has the speed to do it if it comes down to a last lap kick.
He definitely had a qualifying time (1:48 from Iowa State). I forgot where I read it but something said he was looking to move up in distance.
Woods is a Canuck.
How does Prince Mumba from Oral Roberts still have eligibility? How did they swing that one?
will the meet be televised?

Thanks for doing for me what I was gonna do anyway. I now have a new question for the guy who said 8:00 got in last year, do you often pull facts straight from your ass, or is there an intermediary of some sort?

Scott Overall is gonna bust up the 3k field breds. Sit and kick and then merc all dem boys with a 52 last 400m. Then he'll be straight on the lash chasing some proper neat gash. Rep the LON to the fullest Scott. Get me blood!
Sounds messy.
Mumba 800, Manzano mile, Arkansaw for DMR
you must be new here. Sometimes it says "In the know" or "you heard it here first"...whatever...all straight out the @ss.

Brie's mile time never really had a chance of standing up. Her 800 time, however, should have gotten her in based on the national list and the fact that the last time they took is just a bit slower than hers. Did UNC pull her from the meet because of the party incident?
Perhaps UNC wanted to save at least one its DMR legs to be fresh without 800 or mile prelims beforehand.
Maybe the Ivy Men didn't do much but the Ivy women have several serious contenders in the distance races.

you are correct. that was the intent of my statement. the women can probably beat the men.

I was completely aware that it was pulled straight from the ass, I just thought I'd ask the question, you know, maybe make the person confront their obvious and complete disregard for facts. I know it's like pissing in the wind to try and get someone here to admit they were wrong, so i don't know why i tried anyway. Oh well, we've still yet to see a responce form the all knowing one earlier. I suppose that means there's still a chance we could have an admition of being incorrect. "so you're saying there's a chance??"
Note that they sem to adjust the times for the track (overszed, banked, unbanked etc. So, maybe her time was on a track that gets downrated because and thus her adjusted times leaves her out of the top group. I am just guessing here, but it might be the reason. Look at those stars in the NCAA list, and I know some of the Big Ten marks on the unbanked 200m track had stars on them.
i just saw the descending order list and realized richard kiplagat has the run the fastest time in all three distance events; mile, 3k, 5k this year...thats pretty friggin sick. any thoughts?
