34' yesterday along the water.....chilly to say the least.....winter running rules: into the wind going out, wind at the back returning......finished the run on the beach......slow but steady with no problems.....other than a cold face!.....day off today.....
PM: Easy running in Villa Pamphili with shoes with FrancoP, FabioB, PaoloP (a) PaoloP (b), PaoloC, PaolaR, AldoB, and others, 1h15 total. Wet, on the chilly side wanted to stay warm.
Yesterday; Still quite sore from the long ski. Took a good 3 hour walk in the sugarbush. Saw fresh tracks that look to be those of a large Fischer. May he dine lavishly on the plentiful squirrels.
Tues.AM 31:40 on the snowmobile trail. The older Border Collie loves to tow me along on a backwoods run.
mopak; we've plenty of snow to spare. At those Aussie temps. it would need to be a sizable pile to hold together for long.
high wattage day:
AM
- walk to school and back (4k)
- walk (1k) from dentist to get annual physical for "competitive sports activity";
- Physio test on the cycloergometer: got to 400W in about 17 minutes. Doc said everything is ok; the minimum on the blood pressure could have gone down a little faster, more elastic he said, but was being a bit of a perfectionist. I reminded him London's still pretty remote. Mediocre peripehral circulation continues to be a genetic problem and always will be. That's me: cold fingers. Bride was in before me and she's ok for master's swimming.
- walked to buy fish (1k +) and to get a ride with buddy LucaL to Paolo Rosi track. 15 mins wu, and then easyish quadrupedia drill:
10 x 400m so split
(50m Q different gaits between 50s and 2 mins depensing on gait)
(200m high turn over, anywhere from 36 to 47
(150m recovery)
couple of infields cd and drive home
PM: bike commute to work, will bike home.
- 417 days to The MOARG
AM: walk to school and back, 4k
Hello to all my DYRT fellows! I am happy to report that I have begun the new year with some slow -- and short, ha, ha -- jogging. Once around the block it is for now. All is working up to specs and I hope to resume real running in the near future. I really cannot report much more than that, but I wanted to poke my head in here and let all of my friends (and the other guy -- ha, ha) know that I am on my way back! Hopefully I will be well enough to run enough to be able to once again take an active role in this most wondrous of all letsrun.com threads. I am humbled to have played a small part in its success. Thank you, all!

Ha, ha! Thanks for the support, but I'm not sure "once around the block" qualifies as busy. Still I am doing a better job of getting out there. I actually strided a few utilitly poles today with no problems (yet - ha, ha). Things are looking up!
Keep up the good work, all!
I will brave the cold for the first time this year.
AM: kids athletics, way too sunny, kids way to hypersctive, ended up way tired

The energy and embrace of the forthcoming the upcoming maple season are consuming my run time. I'll bow out for a few months to get my years work done. All the best guys, I'll touch base in April. DR
No running today. Went out after work for a "training" hike with the bride. A steep and rough 10kms under full packs.
A day off yesterday after 8 straight days of an hour run and hour ride, also 4 kyak sessions in those 8 days.
Pop in for a brief update occassionally Driske. Good luck with the Maples.
Wish all the best driske!
It has been nice with you here. Hope to read you on some less daily threads. And of course the MOARG in Gimmelwald is still very much dream-works, lol.
