Thanks, you're right. I actually realized right as I posted and tried to close the window but it still went through. I wasn't totally dumb though--they were linked from the 2008 "live" results page on raceberryjam.com.
i don't think jimmy's double of both getting 4th is too awful. I mean at least he was consistant. I thought he would run really well in the 1500 and then be dead for the 800.
Cortland...Alwyas the bridesmaid never the bride
Rough
Kosgei's kick in the 5k was incredible. He just toyed with everyone until the last 200m,where he unleashed a 24.xx high or 25.xx low. He opened up a lead so fast I nearly shat myself. Sigl was third, I cant remember who was second. With a mile to go Kaul tripped up on the inside railing and went down pretty hard. He got up and finished but it really threw him out of rhythm.
Kosgei is a f***ing monster, I have never seen anything like that kick, the entire place just erupted.
I had Kosgei's last 200 at 26.2. .. blazing fast, but not sure where you got 24 from.
Actual split was 24.6

My coach said it was 25.3 and he is extremely good with the watch (splits are always dead on).
any video of the race?
gotta hand it to erichsen...if kosgei was in the right division, erichsen would be a two-time national champ right now.

What the hell does that mean? Kosgei probably feels that DIII is his "right" division, just because he is so much better than everyone else means nothing.

If this list is accurate, Jimmy moves into fifth all time in DIII with that run.

Where's the women's list?
thats just bullshit. Do you want to take him to the right division.... your house?

.... and if Erichsen ran in a junior high meet he'd win every event.
Kosgei in the wrong division?
People used to say the same thing about Missy Buttry. I remember seeing her win XC Nationals her junior year by over a minute when the second place finisher was the fastest 1500m runner in DIII history.
I think both Missy and Peter think they made a great choice. Other than this weekend and conference weekend, the best runners in the college ranks can run against anyone they want (Buttry made the US National XC team and ran under 15:50 for 5k). DIII Kosgei is getting a great deal of individual attention at Hamilton, is progressing nicely, and more than proved himself on several occasions - the Penn Relays steeple is a perfect example where he beat DI Kosgei along with many of his other "big brothers" not competing at "baby nationals" this weekend.
Furthermore, I am sure runners like Erichsen et. al would love to win a National title, but they also enjoy runners like Kosgei raising the bar - making them work that much harder.
what do you think they will do next year in xc?
