Wow, I was right at the finish, and I would have definitely given that one to Balster, I think he held him off on the lean. It was an absolutely incredible finish though. Hats off to Sigl anyway
Packfan ben knows sh*t ;)
I was across the infield at the finish and it looked like Balster got the edge too, FAT is a great thing...
anyone know what happened to Ramsey? I was hoping to see him finish up high
Started to fall off pretty early (2 miles or so) then managed to get back on as the pace slowed way down for a couple of laps later on (81, 78), then once it started moving again he was back off the pack, and dropped out a couple laps later. Clearly wasn't feeling good, as the pace was pretty controlled early on.
Ehhh something was up with Sparling at conferences. He got destroyed in a not-so-fast 5K filled with guys running their 2'nd or 3'rd races. I'm surprised Letts and Ramsey-North really didn't have good races though, both were having good, consistent seasons and this is their last hurrah(Letts-SR IIRC).
It was a pair of great 10ks. The women waited until the last mile before anyone made a real break. Great finish by Erb as she never quit after Adams opened up a 15m gap with 150 to go. They both ran about a 69 last 400. Men finished with a 59 or so. Balster looked great when he started to move with 200 to go. I thought he was going to go right by Sigl, but Sigl fought back hard and they were side by side the last 30m and it was impossible to tell who would win.
Actually Ian was on the front of the race the whole way, running right with Sigl, Hany and Kaul the whole way. It was Lett's who was hanging on the back most the way, even though it was pretty slow. He never looked goof, IMHO.Ian was there with 400 to go and just totally fell apart the last 400. Must have run about 40+ for the last 200. Not sure why?? Hopefully he's ok, same thing happened to him indoor.

Wow, some interesting declarations. Who did St. Johns coach pay off to get Fermoyle into the 10k? 17 in 5k/10k is rare unless they are in the meet already in the other event.
800 took sub 1:52, first time in at least 10 years I think. Thats .51 faster than 2 years ago for last qualifier. The last guy in was 18th on the performance list, as where in the 1500 the 21st listed guy (conn college kid) got in.
Obrien is good, but he will be tired by the 800 final, unless people dont make him run in the trials or 1500 final. Only way to beat him in the 1500 final will be to try and make the race fast enough that he doesnt have much left the last 300. It will be his third day racing in a row.
Yeah good question about why they let Fermoyle in for the 10k. All-American and 8th place is terrible! Good call on that one.

Umm, how could the they have possibly known he would run so well? 17 is a lot to take, that's all the guy was saying. He made a good call, you made an argument based on faulty logic.
he said ramsey, not ramsey north:
10000 Meter Run
13 Ian Ramsey-North, Sr, Haverford College
Dan Ramsey, Fr, St. Lawrence DNF
where are the steep results?
any news on the steeple??
first two days results here:
It appears that that PK ran for the win and won rather easily...but that is just a guess. Anybody have an account of the race?

Kosgei led after the second lap and just slowly opened a lead, he was never challenged (unless you count the rabbit in the first lap, who happened to finish dead last) and did win rather easily by somewhere between 30 and 50 meters. One of the guys lost a shoe early too, and made a truly ballsy effort to finish decently.
Shoeless Joe was still 4th with 800m to go then faded to 13th.
