dude don't be a dick
ECAC this weekend any predictions there? MIT looks like they can knock off Williams and Sanders for the individual win.
is that so?
oh ecac's. i eat my feet.
MIT doesn't usually run at ECACs if I remember correctly. I don't see why they would change this year.

New England's got 5 ranked teams again: Williams (13), Amherst (22), Trinity (23), MIT (27), Keene State (35). How many teams should or will the region get at nationals?
How will this weekend shake things up? Should Bowdoin be in there? Should USM get a nod or will Keene drop off? Is Williams a #13 team? Where does MIT fit in?
This week's poll is in. Bowdoin moves up over MIT, USM over Keene. Does 3rd in NESCAC trump 18 points in NEWMAC? Does USM's victory in a small meet translate to a deeper field?
Bump dat sheeit
The most recent national poll:
Williams 13
Amherst 21
MIT 25
Trinity 31
Bowdoin 32 (tie)
And I would say NESCAC is much stronger than NEWMAC, although MIT did beat Williams at the Planksy invitational recently. I'm amazed MIT isn't ranked higher.
"Beating" Williams in a mid-season 6k (lame in and of itself...) while Williams was doing a tempo run isn't enough to show me that MIT deserves a higher ranking. If they do it at Regionals, that's a different story. And unless three Williams guys drop out mid-race, I don't see that happening. I'd love to be proved wrong.
USM did have three guys in front of Keene's #1 so anyway you look at it in a bigger meet that may help they out even more. There #1 and #2 guys are top 10 potential in NE's. Keene is a deeper team, the key to USM is #4 and #5 who seemed to have improved a ton since the beginning of year, #4 was only 3 sec behind Keene's #4 and #5 was 18 seconds.
Should also mention that Brandeis was only 3 points off the poll in "36th" a few spots later, both just off the poll. It is looking more and more like the region will get 5 teams in more or less no matter what, when at one point in the year it looked like the region may only get 3.
1.Williams-Depth and very tough.
2.USM-Has front runners, in a race like Regionals it helps their score a ton!
3.Keene-Finally some of their guys break away and still keep the depth
4.Amherst-Is Running well
5.MIT-Bombs
6.Bowdoin-Doesn't run as well as they would like.
7.Trinity-Falling apart
You are grossly misinformed, son. Wes Tech will take down USM. Showtime for the big money win.
USM at number two? That's a little optimistic. I can see the results very different from Nescac's due to a completely different course. Some of the faster track guys will do better at Harkness, maybe Williams will see less domination, though I can't see them finishing anything other than first. The race for number two is sure going to be interesting...
how does getting into nationals work now?
There are 8 regions
Each region gets 2 Automatic bids for 16/32 team field
The other 16 at-large bids are decided by committee. No region can get more than 5 bids total, and you must be in your regions top 5 to qualify for at-large consideration. Also there is no jumping, so if the committee takes the team that finishes 5th in region they must also take the 4th place team, even if this was their only good meet of the year.
Top 7 individuals from each region not on a qualifying team also go
So what are the best and worst regions?
