The right of states are paramount in the kind of democracy that works. Each state should have one vote based on their state legislatures or the local vote totals. By this method of democracy, the great Donald Trump is still president. If you look at a map of the United States overwhelmingly we voted geographically for him. It is only the big cities full of people attracted by big unnecessary and wasteful handouts which support Democrats. Whatever Trump does I can forgive because he should still be President and those documents should belong to him.
Dirt Doesn't Vote.
Alan
It could have voted in 2020. There's really no way to tell since it didn't matter what your address was or if you signed your ballot...
You know, armed men, people killed, a govt replaced.
Not on 1/6. It's scary people buy that nonsensical narrative
An insurrection doesn't have to succeed to be an insurrection. We would not expect an attempt to overthrow the government by Trump and his simian followers to succeed, since failure is a byword for them.
Actually this was amazingly close to being a very successful insurrection. People down playing the potency of this insurrection don't understand this type of insurrection and how close it came to being successful. This wasn't the type of insurrection where a well armed militia take over our government by outgunning and over powering our army.
It was an insurrection aimed at stopping our democratic process of certifying the legal election so that Trump could send the election back to the elected state officials and thereby overturning the results so that he would stay in power. If the capital attackers were successful with scaring Pence to leave the capital (in the limo driven by Trump loyalists) stopping certification, there is a very good chance the insurrection would have been successful and Trump would be our current president.
So yeah that was an insurrection that almost worked. Not small potatoes.

2500 protesters and the last I heard there were 3 guns.
Not everyone was searched on the way out, so a smart person would conclude that no one knows how many guns the rioters had. We know that there was reason to believe that some would come armed, and some groups encouraged their followers to come armed. Additional facts are unknown.
The State calls protest an insurrection and gets people to buy it.
No weapons. No plan. No govt in waiting. Basically no violence
What a willfully blind post. There was violence, there were plenty of threats of violence, there was a plan to disrupt the count and either introduce fake electors or suspend the vote to encourage several states to choose different electors and or recount the votes. And of course at least some had weapons and some groups encouraged people to come armed. How many did so is unknown.
There was a 'government in waiting' -- the aim of Trump and his supporters was to keep him in office instead of the Constitutionally mandated transfer of power to his successor.

There has to be 2 candidates better than Trump and Biden, doesn't there?
I've really enjoyed seeing "Mar a Lardo" on the front page every day for the last few weeks, great job OP :)
Agreed, said as much upthread a ways in the early days following news of this Lardian self-induced debacle.
It was also fun to see the usual suspects just go apoplectic for days, with gnashing teeth and vitriol. High entertainment value.
Now it's a bit more like World War I and they are dug into their trenches, and they can't win based on reason or actually considering that maybe there was a reason to retrieve these sensitive documents, so have resorted to whataboutism and insults. The Adult in Diapers should be banned many times over but is likely in good favor by the site hosts and paid as well for 80-100 posts of utter nonsense each day.
LMAO! Fox is now pivoting to "it was only documents" that trump illegally stole and refused to give back and lied about it. Yes, I said Fox News. Yes, the same Fox News of the 5 year long "but her emails" scandal.

The sad irony is that these insurrectionalists shot themselves in the pooch. If these numbskull trailer-trash, red-assing, K-Mart shopping idiots hadn't B&E'ed the Capitol, Pence would likely have come to his senses, followed the chain-of-command, done what he was told, and got the appropriate state authorities on the horn. They could have finally sorted out the whole alternative certified elector slates, and the Constitutional mandated process of appointment and justice could have been faithfully carried out in Trump's manifest favor. As it was, Pence took umbrage at the fried chicken, Vulcanized rubber chisel heads trying to hang him, and there was no way he was going to back down and do the right thing after those backwardass, cornbread yahoos pissed him off. The whole thing was DOA when the minute the yokels showed up in their skunk pickups. What a cluster-slam for the GOP. Schlepprockville.
Elites have always been ambiguous about the muscular classes who replace their tires, paint their homes, and cook their food. And the masses who tend to them likewise have been ambivalent about those…

Trump's lawyers argued that in the ancillary case pending in Boca Raton requesting Appointment of a Master Special. The court found Trump had not made the threshold showing that the court could exercise state electoral jurisdiction over ex post facto declassification of the federal documents subject to search warrant.
None of that matters, for Christ's sakes. The bottom line is that Trump is no closer to determining the identity of the rat(s) at Mar-A-Bago than he was before the redactified Affidavit. Trump has got to be freaked the fvck out now, knowing that the Feds are working the Mar-A-Bago rat like a well heeled pinball. See Affidavit, Paras. 19-22, 30, 52-53, 60, Exs. 2-3.
Trump needs to clean house. He needs to fire these goddam idiot lawyers, fire the mop staff, interrogate everyone in his star sanctum, get some binding loyalty oaths in place, and get out in front of this rat issue. It is impossible to conduct offensive operations at any kind of executive level when you have a rat working behind the scenes.
The rats need to leave the sinking ship led by Captain Narcissist.

Your post is moronic. Nothing was going to happen. You are coating your sh*t with frosting. Are you typing from your basement or a room that they are holding you in? You're just stupid. The left-wingers take over cities for months, but THAT surely didn't have the potential for a long term situation (insert sarcasm and a big "you're a moron" here).

OK. OK. C'mon now, LRC fam-a-lee! Now, our ex-President has a weight problem. OK? But, it is not loving to make fun of him by calling his home Mar-a-Lardo. Now, now "lardo" means fat in Spanish. I think? I'm not a linguist or a Spanish expert. I once vacationed with True Love in Mexico. OLE! If anyone out there in the LRC knows Spanish, hit me up in the comments! OK. Question of the day: Have you ever struggled with your weight annndddd did it made running hard?
