Butzler's a stand up guy and i'm hoping he ends up running really well.
Wait, Teg doesn't run the 10k.

forget all this distance crap.
the real stars of DIII are beresford brown and hanneus ollison. go look at the performance lists, they'll all over it like hany on 50 cent blueberry daiquiri nights in the meatpacking district.
I believe that Kosgei's 5K PR is around 14:20 which he ran indoors this year (at Cornell I think). That being said, I agree that in a competitive 5K he could get close to going sub 14. His 14:30 was run as a workout only in prep for nats.
for the last time, don't even bother debating this scenario. Kosgei is only running the steeple at nationals.
I didn't mean that his 5K was a tune up for the 5K at nats. I agree, he is only running the steeple.
I think sigl will could break 15. If you look at his time he ran that by himself! Everyone else ran theirs at big meets with lots of competition. It would be nice to see kosgei in the 5k as well. I'm guessing he'll steeple and do the 1500. Why wouldnt he? It'd be stupid not to do more than one event. Since he's so damn good and everyone thinks he's the shit he should be going for multiple titles.
Maybe he will be chasing a really good steeple time?? I am not sure why he wouldn't double either, he did it indoor.

hah I like how you tell me the joke is dead and your handle refers to p diddy which if Im not mistaken was a name change that happend over 5 years ago...bravo sir
was that some attempt at a burn... because now your 0-2 with poor marks for originality. It's like being insulted by hellen keller except your handicap is writing a decent comeback... go put some mittens on and type, it would be funnier and probably make more sense.

no way in hell kosgei will only run the steeple
OK, the steeple final is less than 1 hour after the 800 heat on Friday evening, so I would guess that Kosgei will not run the 800. The 1500 final is Saturday afternoon, so that is a possibility. The 5000 final is later that day. He does not run the 5000 often so I would think that this is not in the cards this year, even if he does not run the 1500.

If you're going to bring up Brown and Ollison as the real stars of D3, you might as well mention Dan Hytinen in the discus. I mean, he's got what, 7 meters on everybody, and he's hitting it consistantly (I think his worst mark this year is still 54.xx and he's been 57+ three times now) and he's just off of the B standard for the trials.
IF YOUT CAN GET 3 WINS AT NATS, THAN KOSGEI CAN TOO.
I feel bed for the 5k folks not in Naperville last night. D3sports has the list of provisionals. Do you think the LX distance runners had to stay home for their meet? If you a coach, would you require your athlete to stay home and race instead of going to Chicagoland to get in a race with 1 auto and 13 provisionals? Hindsight is 20/20, but you have to figure last night's 5k and tonight's Steeple were going to be hot.
that all well and good, except only about 4 of those times are gonna get into NCAA's. Gonna need sub 1440 to make it, it looks like.Anyone post info on 1500 and 800 from NC if they got it.

Any 1500 or Steeple Results up from NCC yet?
Celeste ran 349.9
hodge 3:50, boumester 3:50
Kosgei is running 5k-Steeple next week, trust me.
It will be interesting to see what races certain athletes choose to run. People like Kosgei, Erichsen, Balster, and Ramsey-North have qualified in three, even four events. Should help the fringe guys in the 10 and the 5 make it into the meet.
