....good one though!
Kosgei again, 25:22. outkicked a queens university guy (team ranked in top 4 in Canada) by 10 seconds in last 100 meters. The day was extremely hot and a few people passed out from heat exhaustion. Pretty tough course.
bump
10 seconds in the last 100m, right....
You idiot! They did not say he ran 10 seconds for the 100m. They said he beat the other runner by 10 seconds over the last 100m.

you realize that's still ridiculous, right? Even if he was flying the last 100 and ran a 14, which is pretty absurd, that means the other runner would've been rigging with a 24 second 100. That's about 6:20 pace
I gotta go with Brian Butzler of UW-Whitewater after seeing his tough run in the Army 10 miler results this weekend. If that is the same guy he has got some monster strength to go with his speed. That is a deadly combo.
yeah he should be able to run a 25:44 8k according to that performance
Don't forget about Caitlin Bradley, she was NCAA XC runner-up last year, beat Wiz at Paul Short and beat Montgomery ('05 NCAA XC runner-up) at NYU Pre-Regional Meet. Battle for top five women should be pretty awesome.
Plattsburgh women are looking outstanding and should be contender, certainly a podium team. Big frontrunning (like they have in top 3) pays big dividends at NCAA's.
Plattsburgh women have a weak fifth runner which will hurt at nationals, but I agree that they are contenders and I think they are under-ranked at the moment.
Adrian Macdonald - gettysburg college
although he hasn't run in many big races this year, he has improved a lot since last year and I'd look out for him on the national stage.
Butzler won the Brooks Invite at Oshkosh today running around 24 flat. Quite a bit better than 25:44 I would say.
how about the actually results?? they up anywhere yet?
Yes 24 flat is better than 25:44. The 25:44 was just an equivilant 8k XC performance to his 10 mile race which was not as impressive as people thought.
are there any results from oshkosh brooks out there???
Just remember that the 10 miler was in the heat. Someone died in that race too, so before you judge his time, just remember it was in wild conditions.
As for his 23:59 today... thats pretty awesome and it was against some good competition.
does anyone have any results from the calvin pre-regional meet? I can't get on the ncaasports website for some reason.
Butzler won in a tad over 24 min
Then a big pack pretty close together
