People, even older people, do not much care for their county being invaded by foreign armies and will fight for their right to self determination.

Kiev and Western Ukraine are not fighting for self determination. They are fighting to BLOCK OTHERS' self determination in Eastern Ukraine. See 2014 - 2022.

This thread has been cleaned of attempted lies of post-Feb. 2022-only propaganda.

Putin does not think any part of Ukraine has a historical right to exist as a sovereign state.

First, finish your topic of "self determination", which Kiev blocked first in Ukraine referendums, all before Russia was ever in the Donbas. If you pass that, we will consider allowing you to move forward.. But you can't bring up Russia. Ukraine ruined Ukraine before Russia was there.

You'd like to change the subject, but it remains a fact that Russia is engaged in a large scale military campaign to replace the Ukrainian government with something more compliant.

A lot of Ukrainian's, including older Ukrainians, are not amused.

Let's review why you are avoiding your own point:

Kiev blocked Eastern Ukraine's self determination (your point) before Russia was involved there. That led to Russia being involved. Cause and effect flexing on you.

I'd say all of Ukrainian's are not amused that Russia is smoking them.

I'm commenting on why there are a great many older persons in the current Ukrainian army. Simply put, they are involved in a literal existential battle for an independent Ukraine.

How the conflict evolved in previous years is not relevant even if your characterization of the Donetsk separatist movement were accurate and complete, which it is not.

So many Russian Trolls here with long posts that "prove" Russia is winning. If they really think Russia is winning they wouldn't need to keep posting all that crap. Russian progress for it's people has been set back at least a generation by this war.
