EU countries are adding support slowly (UK and France so far). It might be enough to slow the Russian advance but not enough to hold the lines. When America approves funding, the stalemate (continued slow Russian advance) will resume. If Russia were smart they would push hard now for a chance at easier gains. The funding situation for Ukraine is rock bottom right now because EU countries are working slowly at bilateral agreements with Ukraine and America is stuck.

Strange stuff happening in the war. First, RU accuses Ukraine of killing 25+ in the shelling of a market in Donetsk. The market is about 9 miles from the front lines.
Then, Russia claims that Ukraine shot down a transport plane in Belgorod that had 65 Ukrainian POWs on board. Russia says the POWs were being transported to a prisoner exchange. There are a bunch of internet rumors about Ukraine's armed forces claiming responsibility and saying that the transport had missiles on it, but those reports appear to be false as efforts to confirm the source have failed.
There is usually coordination between Russia and Ukraine on the transport of POWs, with each informing the other of the location and timing of transport. It appears that Russia did not inform Ukraine that this flight had POWs. It could be that this flight was not carrying POWs. I could be that this flight was carrying POWs but was shot down by Russia or just crashed due to mechanical failure. It could be that Russia let UA shoot it down by not telling UA that it had POWs on board.
This combined with the market bombing and Russia's frustration with UA's ability to keep defending despite ongoing infighting in the West over continued funding and UA's successes in hitting targets deep inside Russia raise the question of whether these are RU operations to discredit UA. Would UA front line artillery decide to bomb a civilian market in territory that UA claims as part of Ukraine at a time when UA forces are on a severe artillery diet and facing an increased onslaught of RU meat waves? Would UA shoot down their POWs, using precious Patriot missiles that are needed for defense and for hitting high value RU targets?
