JJ has a friend in Mississippi with a vacancy. I wouldn't be shocked to see JJ and Boogie both wearing blue and red next year. It would make sense, their women are terrible and you have two proven coaches (both with a friend in Mississippi) out of work

1.) Clark=coach who cares about his athletes.

2.) Clark=coach who is doing everything right to succeed and win on all fronts.

Lots of people would agree that the first statement is true. Why else do you not cut athletes that don't deserve to be on the team? The entitlement of those individuals is outrageous. Most everyone could also agree that the second statement is false ...all you have to do is look at Conference results from the past few years.

But the same people who have been bashing Coach Clark for his poor showings recently are also upset at a coach looking out for his own future and his family for telling his boss his true (and accurate) opinion about the dysfunctional program when he is personally called into his office??? I knew you guys were crazy.

The only reason he (or any other coach) would keep an athlete on the team whw was not performing is because of the APR scores.

There's a difference from being pulled into the office and asked an honest opinion to the AD, and being attached to the hip to Asst. AD at the SEC meet and reporting everything said person would do better and what head coach was doing wrong. There's just more professional ways to go about doing things.

I'm not saying JJ was the right person for the Director of T&F job at all, he was best just staying with the women where he had his success. But his lack of organization, as well as lack of communication skills eventually caught up with him. He did do a great job with certain individuals as well, but seemed to have trouble getting and keeping quality assistant coaches.

Best way to move forward for Tennessee is to completely Clean-house and start from scratch. The only coaches I can see them keeping would be the Men's Vault coach and the throws coach. They can't get much lower than they are right now as far as overall team.

any articles to support those lapses in good judgement by that guy, JOhnson?

I have been listening to Alumni for years and following the thread for a year. In reference to JJ, for many that don't know, the program was combined and he does not have a track record with men. His coaching techniques and philosophical approach are great tools for athletes that are willing to listen and accept the style.

In reference to communication, I am a coach and a parent, he has been in constant contact with me from the initial recruiting phone call of my daughter, freshman orientation, first days of school and practice regimen. If I had a question, he had an answer or found the answer for me. What he has accomplished in the track and field world is nearly second to none and it was a sad day for the "female" athletes that lost him before the regional meet.

I hear complaints all over the place but that comes with the territory. No one will ever be happy with "you" all of the time. He's a great man, great coach, a great husband, and a great father. Sitting down and talking to him is priceless and I appreciate all of the sacrifices that he's made for the team. I also appreciate the staff that truly supported him during his tenure there.

One are that you may want to look at is the "A.D." and question the "revenue" sports and it's traditions. Football, Women's Basketball and Men's Basketball. Never been a Tennessee fan in anything but have appreciated the caliber of athletes that it has produced. If you haven't noticed, please look at the academic achievements that are on the track team. That should speak the most volumes there, but instead, the focus is on Florida, Texas A&M, LSU and where UT needs to be in all of that.

I guess we'll never know why Odrine Belot of UCONN who qualified for the NCAAS did not end up competing in them!!!!!

I was also wondering why Odrine did not compete at NCAAs…wish track and field new releases were as detailed as the ones written for football and basketball are.

well ... someone "forgot to enter her" into the meet... but failed not to book the flights and hotel.

JJ Clark is ruining UConns program as well. He came in with high hopes but soon has shown he cannot run a program. He cannot control his own girls. With drinking scandals and favorites being played, the entitlement of his athletes are tearing this team apart. These athletes are now cutthroat against each other and don't care about winning or anything but themselves. JJ has almost wiped out the coaching staff with Coach Lisa Misapeka gone after one year because of her being a threat to taking over the program because she out recruited him. JJ's girls are tumbling down a horrible path with only Emily Durgin as the face (the only face) of his program at UConn. He has threatened multiple seniors to kick them off for stuff that should never result in that yet his girls get away with murder. I have never met anyone so self absorbed than this man and the only thing he was pissed about was not getting his bonus check for winning conference. Oh ya did i mention he is letting multiple girls have eating disorders and just looking away while they pass out on the track/get an injury. Great middle distance coach... terrrrrible head coach. Get him out of here before he takes Uconn down just like he did to Tennessee.

Clark should move down the road to ECSU. He probably wouldn't even need to buy a new house.
