Benford of Richmond takes 13th place at the World Mountain Running championship, top American finisher.
It appears to be that way, yes.
Results from Saturday's meet held there.

UMass women competed at the Fairfield Invite this past weekend. Came 3rd overall as a team (behind UConn and Yale):
Congrats to the squads from Dayton, Xavier, LaSalle, Duquense, Charlotte, and UMass (men only) on being ranked in their region for the USTFCCCA preseason poll.

the hawks are ranked 5th.
Great to see you UMass doing well!
Question, how do Saint Joseph's and Duquesne go 8 and 4 in the A-10 standings, yet run 5 and 6 in the Mid Atlantic poll?
Also, LaSalle at 5 in the A-10 gets leapfrogged for number 7 in the Mid Atlantic.
Kinda odd no?
Interesting obersation, McBride. I guess the A-10 coaches are a bit more knowledgeable about the abilities of the teams than USTFCCCA, in my opinion, so perhaps the A-10 standings are a bit more accurate for rankings within the conference.
We'll see how the polls change as the season progresses. USTFCCCA tend to update the polls every 2 weeks or so.

Most coaches are familiar with their conference, but outside, they rely on what they see reported
Prudent ones wait til there are results available to make a judgement, but some speculate on the frosh having impact on squads (recruits) ie, Harvard's high ranking on good incoming class, but WE shall see if that holds trie
There was no vote for the Men's Mid-Atlantic Regional. The "rankings" are only the results from last year.
Aye, that makes a little bit more sense. I know that the Great Lakes has a rep that makes the rankings by himself, but I am not sure of how the others do this.
8 Men/6 Women Teams Regionally Ranked
Nice Conference Strength, but the A10 needs that push to get to the National Top 30.
Great showings @ Paul Short/Iona MOC/PreNat's/National Catholic will help
