She is lying. USA championships are in a week, there are no other international meets for her to compete in between now and then. If she qualifies for World championships, USATF pays the whole way. If she doesn't qualify, her season is basically over. If she doesn't qualify, any meets she goes to would serve no purpose other than to give her a free vacation on the backs of gullible supporters.

It's not clear to me how the NCAA would consider this legal (NCAA legal). Perhaps she is considering going pro if the fund raises a sizable amount of money?

If this is allowed what is to stop any NCAA athlete from doing the same thing. It seems as if it's being paid to compete.

I mean more power to her if it works but doesn't seem as if it will be allowed.

I'm interested to see how it turns out.

I hope the NCAA clamps down on her. But she will have a lawyer claim racism and sexism.

So I was in San Jose, Costa Rica for Pan Am U20's and I saw the best busker I have ever seen. A man went out into the middle of traffic which and if you've seen traffic in Costa Rica that was a death defying in itself but he then started juggling 3, 18 inch machete's. Should have taken a video of it as it was that impressive, kicking myself that I didn't.

As for the GoFundMe site it's probably to get her family to Doha if she makes it.

After USATF's everyone who can make money at heads directly to Europe where they actually appreciate Athletics!

Tara is tied with 2 other women for 9th seed at USA Championships in long jump. She would be lucky just to make the final.

But of course when she falls short, she's going to play the victim again and it's going to be someone else's fault.

It's even worse - if she makes the team then USATF pays for her travel!

Everything on her gofundme is a lie. This is an attempt to line her pockets. Instead of GETTING A JOB like other college students, she spews lies and begs for money.

This is a girl who has probably never had to pay a dollar for tuition in her life. It's like Bernie Sanders with 3 houses complaining about those greedy capitalists while refusing to pay his staff 15 bucks an hour.

Besides being the qualifying meet for the Doha IAAF World Championships another team will be selected from the competitors at the Toyota USATF Championships as well. It will be a USA vs Europe challenge meet held in Minsk, Belarus in September.

Before you start throwing all this hate at Tara Davis for doing what plenty other athletes have done before her you need to ask yourself who Hunter Woodhall is?

Also I know Tara and Coach Petros had an ugly falling out over her desire to transfer to the University of Texas but the Tara Davis I've met is a wonderful person and truly marvelous competitor with a huge heart. I might have to go find the go fund me page myself and help her out!

It might just be the top 4 finishers at USATF championships anyway. USATF would still pay for that travel, too.

The reasons she gives for needing that money are invalid.
