Well, not really. Not every workout is supposed to be very hard, this is just a moderatly-hard one. You also have to consider i'm in the middle of some decent training volume. In less than 2 months i'll go for some altitude training, the summer ahead will be gruelling. My objective is long-term, i definitely shouldn't exert myself too early.

It has nothing to do with it. I already stated how i recover after every rep. Basically this workout is a MP practice run in small segments.
Do you have enough money to hold out until tokyo 2020 in terms of food, equipment (shoes), travel money for races, etc? If so, I don't see anything bad about this. If nothing else, you'll come away from the experience with some new prs. I'd suggest shooting for Berlin in the fall in chasing a pr.

I have some, i've been a police officer until now. Eventually i will rejoin. Our athletic federation do sponsor us at times, for travelling or get good equipment, they also will provide us free accomodation this summer for some high altitude training. So mainly i need money for living, it won't be a problem.
I am yet to decide where i race this autumn. My heart says Bucharest, my head says Amsterdam, great depth as always and great weather. Next spring i'll go Rotterdam/Paris. In 2020 i might want to try Tokyo in february if i'm qualified for the OG already. I'm off for my run now.
I'm certainly not even a 15:00 5k runner but I can bang out a 20x400 with 75 second average at least with 200m rest so I feel like you should be able to run a faster pace than that.
Don’t listen to the naysayers on here. Not only about making the Olympiad, but about your workouts. Clearly every workout is part of a bigger picture and doesn’t have to be hard.
Looking at your PRs it looks like you won’t make it, but that doesn’t mean anything. Who knows how optimally you were training before. Get in the consistent training and work, listen to your coach, and train smart.
I’d also recommend posting your training on here in chunks, like a week at a time, so people don’t get frustrated about this thread constantly being bumped and so it’s easier to follow. Good luck!
Oh well somewhat ignore my previous statement but usually that's not the purpose of a 400m workout. For the marathoners that do actually do 400m workouts it's meant to boost your speed capability and not endurance at marathon pace. That's closer to the purpose of doing an up-tempo workout of something like 2x4 mile or 3x5k. If you're going to do it at that pace shouldn't you be running an extremely high volume of around 30x400 or so?

Well, i've done it and before i would go in the red zone i could have done another 20x400 at this pace. The purpose was not to make it an exhaustive workout. I have enough speed, i won the 5000m national champs a few years ago. It was a nice workout with short mp intervals. This week there are harder days, a long run coming + a harder interval training.

Thanks ! Much appreciated. Time will tell but i really hope to make it with proper training + altitude training and quitting my job temporarily. I will post my training daily and at the end of each week i will post a chunk of the whole previous week. I can't post in advance.

Sounds like maybe he knows something you don't.
Today easy, 16 km @ 4:45 / km. Then comes a 3 day hardcore training block.
Have any of you ran Frankfurt or Amsterdam? Which one has more depth and a flatter less exposed course?
