Cosidering what jorge himself has been through the past couple years...and that his pr is still only 1324 years after he ran it...This was not a bad first 5k...especially if it really was windy out. I can't imagine he needed to much consolation after this race...losing to someone everyone expected him to lose too. He hasn't really done anything to indicate he's progressed into a 1315-1320 5k runner at this point in the season...this had to be kinda expected. I'm sure he was hoping for a pr. But 1330 is nothing to go home and cry about for him right now. "If" he runs 1330 in a month or so...he might need some consolation....and we'll see him jump ship probably.

He seems to be back on the right track after many years...hopefully he'll at least pr this year...or drop under 1320 to give him some motivation to get better.

Where does this "account" of wondering if he was going to lose appear?

I wouldn't exactly describe the length of his slump as "many years." In the summer '03, he ran 13:24 and went to worlds. That was not even two years ago. He took 3rd at USATF XC in early '04. Then he became injured and didn't perform up to his standards for the next six months. But by Dec of last year, he dominated Goucher at Club XC Nationals, and he took 2nd to Ritz a few months ago at USATF XC. Basically, he had an untimely injury that ruined his track season last year. Other than that, he's been very solid the last 3 1/2 years.
